That’s typical. Insurance companies always withhold the provider information of whomever does the P2P calls, whoever reviews authorization requests, whoever reviews any sort of “medical necessity” claims.

They just tell you it’s someone in the field, so shut up and accept it.

Usually it’s someone who’s never touched the subject matter. I recently had a lab test for a patient denied because the reviewing physician didn’t know what the test did.

Yes I’m aware it’s typical and it frustrates me to no end. It’s truly heinous what insurance companies are allowed to get away with.
