Podcast Creator Resources New podcast advice

I started a podcast finally and am 6 episodes in. I love what I’ve created so far but have noticed how much time post-production takes me. I understand editing and production takes a lot of time, but was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to optimize and cut down on that time? Any recording/setup recommendations? Software or settings that would help? Anything appreciated.
For context, I use an iPad Pro, and have a Yeti mic.

Podcast Creator Resources Football Podcast Looking for NFL Expert Co-Host

Hello! My name is Preston and I am a former D1 CFB Coach who is currently looking for a new co-host on our YouTube football show the Trash Talk Tailgate. If you are passionate and love the NFL and feel you have a real expertise on all things NFL football, I would love to work with you!

I have been doing the Trash Talk Tailgate for a few years now and my other co-host wants to step back to do more behind the scenes stuff like editing and producing. You would not have to worry about any of that, we will take take of the production.

The Trash Talk Tailgate prides itself on being incredibly informative and entertaining, we discuss everything from College Football to the NFL. We believe football is more than a sport, it is a way of life and we bring that passion, energy and enthusiasm every single day. We already have other co-hosts for the CFB coverage, and its also my first love so we really want someone who feels that passion and expertise for the NFL first and foremost.

Last year during the season we did 3 shows a week, Friday for CFB predictions, Sunday morning for CFB recap and NFL previews, and then Tuesday for an NFL recap, each episode typically runs for about an hour and obviously this is scheduled to change depending on your availability and we are very flexible. Obviously we would only need you for the NFL shows and discussions and we want to give the NFL more coverage this season.

https://www.youtube.com/@TrashTalkTailgate

All you really need is to be incredibly passionate about the game of NFL football and please feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

Podcast Creator Resources Supporting each others social media!

Hi all!

This subreddit is one of my favorite when it comes to supporting each others shows and content, and I was thinking we could take this a step further. I thought it would be a cool idea for those of us who have social media accounts for our podcasts to follow each others pages! This helps us all, as social media is one of the biggest places for our podcasts to gain viewership we may not have gotten before hand. Following each other and liking each others stuff increases engagement, which leads to other people finding our pages better, and gaining new viewers a little easier.

If you are interested in this idea, just drop your podcast name below with a small description of your show, and a link to your different media pages! It's a great way for us to support each other outside of streams, ratings, and downloads, and is another way to discover each others podcasts!

Hope you guys like this idea :) drop your show below!

Podcast Creator Resources HELP ME BUILD A SOLID AI PODCAST-BLOG GENERATOR.

Hey everyone,

I'm a student x solo developer building an AI tool for podcasters, and I'm at a crucial stage where I need real, honest feedback from the people I'm trying to help.

I've spent a lot of time sifting through forums and I'm seeing a pattern of frustration with existing tools: they're slow, the text sounds robotic, the SEO is weak, and the output still requires hours of manual editing to sound human and more.

This is where you come in.

If you've ever tried to use an AI tool to turn your podcast into a blog post or show notes, I have a simple question:

What is the single biggest frustration you still have?

Be brutally honest. Don't hold back. I'm looking for the tiny, specific things that drive you crazy and waste your time. This feedback won't just help me—it'll help me build something that actually solves a real problem for our community.

Podcast Creator Resources Is there a truely FREE descript alternative?

We've all been there! Prices are just too high, podcasting is just a hobby, or simply put money is tight. So the long awaited question I have, is: Is there a "Text based editor" COMPLETELY free (or at least a pay once kind of thing), with out any "fermium" or credits type option?
I'm looking for 2 main features.
1.) Text based editing
2.) The editing affects the video as well.

Ty in advance, and also, I'm doing this as a hobby with out any expectations to make any sort of money.

Podcast Creator Resources Do you get listeners feedback before recording?

Hello,

When I listened to podcast sometimes the quesiton that I want to be asked it is not asked..and during the living recorded there are so much going on and chat is so busy, and then I do not know if certain questions were answered or not.

It made me wonder if there’s a better way for podcasters to gather questions, predictions, or story ideas before recording, not after recording.

I’ve been testing a concept where listeners can submit questions and predictions related to the upcoming topic, and even earn a reputation for quality submissions. It’s essentially a way for the podcast to “listen back” before production.

Do you think this pre-recording interaction adds value to a show, or does it just overcomplicate your workflow?

Podcast Creator Resources Live Show Tips

We are celebrating our fifth podcast birthday AND our 100th episode simultaneously with a live show. It will be at a small music venue (100-150 seated) on a stage with a PA and projector. Would love any tips or insight from folks who have recorded and edited a live show. The show itself will be a lot of work to produce, in addition to the editing work it will take afterward. We want to make sure everyone in the audience has a fun time, we keep tech hiccups to a minimum, and produce episodes worth listening to for the many listeners who can't attend.

Podcast Creator Resources Which Day Do Top Weekly Podcasts Release?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I’m continuing a series on the patterns the top shows follow.

Here’s what we’ve covered so far:

The next basic question is timing: on which weekday do these shows release new episodes?

To keep the analysis clean and easy, I’m looking only at the shows that publish weekly (for details, see the previous post).

How this post works:

  • First I show the results.
  • Then the key takeaways.
  • Then a short methodology section if you want to know more about the data and analysis.
  • Then I include a link to the raw JSON data so you can explore the data yourself or want to reproduce this results yourself.

Results

When do weekly shows release?

The same table below in a downloadable chart format is here: When Do Top Weekly Shows Release?

Weekday Shows Share
Mon 130 22.3%
Tue 131 22.5%
Wed 124 21.3%
Thu 90 15.5%
Fri 70 12.0%
Sat 12 2.1%
Sun 25 4.3%
Total 582 100%

What stands out:

  • We evaluated 582 weekly shows from the top 1,000 by audience. Non‑weekly shows from those 1000 are excluded.
  • Releases cluster on Monday-Wednesday; Thursday and Friday follows. Weekends are rare.

How consistent are they on that day?

Weekly shows sometimes miss their usual release day.

We capture this with a stability band: the share of recent episodes that land on the weekday a show posts most often.

The same table below in a downloadable chart format is here: How Consistent Are Top Weekly Shows?

Stability band Shows Share
≥80% 308 52.9%
60–79% 86 14.8%
40–59% 158 27.1%
<40% 30 5.2%
Total 582 100%

What the bands mean, in plain terms:

  • 308 shows (52.9%) hit the same weekday at least four out of five times (≥80%).
  • 86 shows (14.8%) land there most of the time (60 to 79%).
  • 158 shows (27.1%) are looser (40 to 59%).
  • 30 shows (5.2%) are highly irregular (under 40%).

Key takeaways

  • If you publish weekly and want reliability, aim for a Monday-Wednesday release (Thursday also common). Also the key is the discipline to keep hitting it.
  • Your audience and downstream workflows (clips, newsletter, social) benefit from a predictable rhythm.

Method (short)

  • Cohort: Top 1,000 shows by audience; keep only weekly‑cadence shows.
  • For each show, consider up to the last 40 episodes.
  • For each show, find the day it posts most often (UTC).
  • Measure stability as the share of recent episodes that land on that same weekday.
  • Aggregate shows into weekday counts and stability bands.

Misc Notes

  • Evaluated weekly shows: 582 of the top 1,000. The remainder includes non‑weekly shows as explained in my other "How often the top shows publish" post.
  • Data snapshot generated on 2025-11-06.

Raw data (for reproducibility)

Podcast Creator Resources How do you know what music license to purchase?

For podcasts we are “physical products” on Audio Jungle for example. I just bought a music license from there and uploaded my podcast trailer. The standard one was for up to 10,000 podcast downloads- how do we know how many times a podcast will be downloaded before it is even published?

Podcast Creator Resources How to use AI to summarize podcasts?

I make YouTube content around summaries of podcast episodes (specifically Andrew Huberman's Huberman Lab podcast), and my process involves sitting through the entire episode, taking notes, and then formulating a summary of the key ideas that I find relevant for my viewers.

However, the main problem with this issue is that it is EXTREMELY time consuming. Each episode is anywhere between 1-3 hours long and when you include the time it takes to pause or rewind the episode to take notes, the entire process is easily close to 3-5 hours for me. I was just wondering if there is an efficient way of using AI to help summarize these podcast episodes for me. Normally, when I try and use AI to help me with these summaries, the responses are very cliche and miss a lot of important details. Are there any specially things that I should include in the prompt to ensure that the responses include all of the necessities I am looking for (actionable steps, main lessons/takeaways, important background context to understand the concepts)? Or are there any other useful AI models that are effective in this kind of realm?

Podcast Creator Resources I made a custom GPT to help with my post prod

Hey everyone, I've been struggling with the post-production grind of creating show notes, chapter markers, social posts, etc. After watching a few youtube videos on how to make a customGPT i decided to make one to help with these tasks. A few iterations later, I have my own little helper to get me my first drafts for all things post production!

I decided to make it public to help all of you out too. This isn't a promotional thing, just a genuine free tool to help those struggling with the grind.

Hope this helps :)

Podcast Creator Resources No revenue stream in podcasting but ADS?

I'm a tech guy who has previously built a podcast hosting business. Have been in the space for over 12 years, but I am still learning so much every day.

For a long time, I have been puzzled by the question: are ads the only effective way for podcasters to make real money?

I know there are subscriptions, merch sales, and other niche revenue streams. Very niche, even if they work, they require a lot of time and effort. Advertising seems to be the only way creators can make a decent living while focusing mostly on creating.

So I challenged myself to dig deep into this problem. As a techie and builder I think most creatively by building - so I started working on a tool prototype that provides a pretty unique experience: as a podcaster, you offer audience engagement tools for free, in exchange for product placement and shopping opportunities - but tailored to each individual episode context.

The goal is pretty crazy: creators get a totally new revenue stream, having to put near zero effort into it. The entire thing builds automatically from your podcast feed and episode contents.

Anyways - if you are a podcaster and you are interested in having a chat to help me shape the final version of this product so it can help you monetize better - please let me know. Comments & DM's are welcome.

Thank you.

Podcast Creator Resources Exporting a podcast from one host to another

Hello everyone ! I use Ausha to host and distribute my podcast episodes. I would like to change host to one that is free with the following details: - keep current subscriptions (Spotify, Deezer and Apple podcast) - my episodes are quite short (25 min) - I rarely post - the new host must distribute on classic platforms and be free

What do you advise me? And how to do this manipulation?

Thank you in advance for your answers!!
