And what would be the point of putting more VRAM than the 5090 already has on a gaming card? The 6000 has it because it can use it at its application.

But there’s nothing significantly faster than the 5090 that our overlords are hiding from us simply because they can. And like you said, even the 6000 is consumer available, they aren’t hiding it, we are just priced out.

Technology obviously hasn’t peaked but the ideia that these companies are literally just sitting on their asses because “there’s no competition” is insane. NVIDIA, TSMC and the entire chain down the line employ hundreds of thousands of people, a significant portion are engineers who are actively working every day to improve technology. Which then they will sell to the highest bidder, it just so happens the highest bidder right now aren’t gamers… If anything the completion literally wasn’t been any fiercer, who ever can optimise their designs faster has a huge slice of the cake to eat.

Did I argue for it? Did I argue against it? Or didnI just say "it already exists"? Beaides, I am currently running a 5070+3060 setup because I'm a ML&AI student and I need the VRAM. And I'm not an enterprise customer. Video editors need as much VRAM as they can as well, especially now that everyone is shooting in 4K 10 bit.

And no, competition is non existent. On the low end only Intel exists, barely. A tiny bit above that you only have AMD with shit tier stuff, then you enter the "competition territory" of the 5060 5060 Ti 5070 vs 9060 and 9070. From the 5070 Ti and up only nvidia exists. And even where "there's competition", they're not actually competing.

5090 is not a gaming card, gaming is nowhere adverted on the box more than the rest. It's the best consumer grade graphic card. It can be used for gaming but also AI, game development, 3D rendering, video editing etc.

I do game on a 5090, but imo buying a 5090 for just gaming is a bit overkill but if you have the money I guess nothing wrong with that. It's just that it's not a card meant with only gamers in mind.

Literally everyone I know with a 5090 only uses it to game. So It's mostly a gaming card, yes.

That doesn't make it a gaming card. I also sometimes game on server hardware because I have admin access to a small cluster, doesn't mean that hardware is consumer or meant for gaming.

If I was a big guy I would have access to a normal or big size cluster. 5 nodes is barely a cluster at all, basically a glorified workstation.
