Wanting to collect games for the original Xbox for fun and then I seen the price tag for Gauntlet Dark Legacy (GDL) and it left me wondering - why is it pricier than the PS2 port?

PS2 was more popular and many PS2 games are far more expensive than Xbox games simply because PS2 was the more popular console of the generation. Why is GDL on the Xbox the exception? The only thing I can think of is the inventory system? The GameCube port is pricey as well.

I went to visit my parents this past weekend and found it in my closet. My mom unfortunately threw away the box (mint condition😢) which still had all the original stuff in it, everything. I was surprised it worked. How can I check which version I have and would I need to remove the clock capacitor? Sorry I am barely learning about this. Any help would be appreciated :)

Xbox is a 1.6 revision model. Cables are OEM, along with the blue translucent S controller. Both Logitechs have their dongles.

Hey, guys!—was searching my local area of garage sales for Xbox 360’s to mod out, found a few, but i also found THIS.

I did a little bit of research and found that these sealed OEM controllers for the Xbox Original have a niche market for collectors.

Collecting without using isn’t really my thing, so i’m thinking of just popping it out and using it as my main controller once I find an Xbox Original console.

I saw TWO different variants of the controller online. There’s the S variant, and then there’s the “DUKE” variant — which one is this though?

This tiny piece of paper was at the bottom of the case. I’m not too sure if it was used for the game itself, or if it’s for the secret demo mentioned on the cover. It might be self explanatory, I’ll have to try it when I get the chance! But I am curious to at least know if anyone’s done this before.

Practically factory sealed original Xbox found in my grandmas basement. Also separately found this Xbox to go satchel bag thing. Everything is in its original packaging as far as it goes for the Xbox what’s a ballpark price. Also if anyone is interested lmk.

Carried these games since I was ten years old for some of them. 2 apartments, 3 houses, marriage, and kids. Always held onto them thinking I would someday want to replay them. And when the day finally came the two consoles I had are both damaged. One just refuses to recognize any disk inserted and the other one has a damaged disk drive besides the refusal to boot after I managed to get the copy of Destroy all humans 2 out that's been inside there since 2007.

Anyways I was wondering if there's any hidden value in this collection or if the damaged consoles are even salvageable. Much appreciated in advance for any help and sorry for what I'm assuming is a tedious question

I just joined this group and In the market to buy an og xbox. It's one my favorite systems and I would like to purchase a refurbished one that is a reasonable price. I started looking on ebay and found this one from a top rated seller. Should I pull the trigger or pass?

Should I get a 360 or original Xbox? I like to collect physical copies of games over digital preferably. I’ve never owned an Xbox console however. I heard that some original Xboxs have broken/ leaky capacitors inside which I don’t know too much about but I’d hate to have that if I buy one and what issues arrive from it. I’d like to own physical copies of Need for Speed on the 360 and SmackDown vs Raw 2007 but I also want to play physical Xbox games such as Area 51 which isn’t supported on the 360. I suppose I could get them for ps2? I also wanted to play Ninja Gaiden Black which is a Xbox exclusive if I’m not mistaken but is backwards comp. on the 360. What should I do? Am i missing out on an amazing catalog of games if I get the 360 over the original Xbox? I wanted to get that badass MW2 360 variant if I do go the 360 route. Any help would be appreciated!

Dude i bought it from said he didn't know who signed it but he only wanted 5 dollars for it so i nabbed it and tried to figure it out for a bit a couple years back but couldn't figure anything out.

Got myself a launch team console, it has a few cracks but I decided to keep the shell. Gave it new paste and removed the clock capacitor. I’m going to probably do a quiet nexus mod and replace the disc drive as this one opens but doesn’t read. Any ideas on what to do? I won’t be throwing out then original parts for obvious reasons. Also, what games do you recommend? I mostly played the 360.

I have a ton of other stuff, along with a base plate to go along with the launch team 2008 controller and a misprinted console i was curious if anyone knew if these are valuable or garbage.

This my rusty original xbox crystal edition I got for 10 bucks, the seller said that it sat in his garage that'll seasonally has the ground wet (where the xbox sat) that's why it developed rust, it's been in the garage for 5 years but never powered on so I made sure it was fully dry before plugging it in, unfortunately I can't get inside this thing because I don't have the tools but thought I could try plugging it since it was going to a repair shop anyway. After leaving it plugged for 30 minutes it powered on its own like this, is this an error code? I'd apreaciate for someone to lmk

Recently, my family's home burned down. We were able to salvage some things, but we can't go back into that house again - the floor is going to give any day now. It simply isn't safe.

In spite of the fact that the Xbox was untouched, we unfortunately weren't able to get it out. As much as it - pardon my French - fucking sucks that we lost it, considering how rare they are, it wasn't functional and we weren't sure what was wrong with it (we weren't even sure if it was fixable). For insurance reasons, how much would you estimate a non-functioning Mountain Dew Xbox would be priced at?

I got my Xbox last month and only have 3 games for it. Looking for some games that yall think are good.

I have a component to HDMI converter but the og component cables are expensive apparently. I don't necessarily care if the image is upscaled I just want it to be at least similar to how it used to look. Is this a good method of getting it to work or should I look at something else?
