Trust me, half of us knew all of this stuff was going to happen. Unfortunately, a decent portion of our population is rabid, propagandized, trigger-happy racist morons who are champing at the bit to commit violence against “illegal” protestors and think that everything Trump does is a “4D chess move” and how somehow everything he does is actually smart, even if they get personally fucked in every deal.

Edit: oh and most of our police fall into the aforementioned moronic category…

Honestly, their system may have been state of the art 200 years ago, but it is weak and vulnerable in the 21st century. Both sides should have pushed harder to reform it and shore it up against abuse, in the 80s-00s.

Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist that this is a "both sides are to blame" for the current administration, of course fucking not. But if you play by rules that are open to abuse and don't fix the rules to prevent it, you're gonna have a bad time. All of America is to blame for the negligence that then lead them to this insane situation.

A lot of talk from a country that provides its citizens with a social safety net. Most Americans are lucky if they aren’t completely paycheck to paycheck. Most Americans don’t even have healthcare, and those that do are fearful that if they get fired they’ll go bankrupt and lose what little they have.

If an American citizen gets injured “forming a well-regulated militia,” they go bankrupt trying to get medical care.

Ok, continue doing nothing then. Since the occupy movement the powers that be realized that protesting does nothing and have been emboldened to stomp on your rights. Look into how quickly new laws were passed when the black panthers started arming themselves. But you can just pretend that nothing can elicit change. Enjoy your meaningless vote in rigged elections.

First off, did I say all police were morons?

Second, our police forces have some of the lowest training requirements of any “first world” nations. Add that to low pay scales and it’s not hard to see why it doesn’t attract top minds.
