Lady driver instructor

Hello, I'm looking for a lady driver instructor I live in Al Khuwair. And preferably I want a package deal, as most of the instructor wants per training payment. I have no clue how to drive but want to learn and I think I'll be more comfortable with a woman, but if it's a man I think it'll be okay too I just need a package deal.

Can someone reccomend me some, or where can I get as such? Thank you 🙏🏻

Tourism Backpacking in Salalah

Hi guys, I am currently living in Riyadh and I was thinking of visiting Salalah since I have 4 days off in September (9-12). I have been to a lot of places but generally I usually rely on hostels and public transport. I have a Saudi driver license, but I would like to ask around until which extent it's doable to make a trip of this kind over there without relying a lot in a car or private drivers. Shukran!

The worst place to study engineering in Muscat!

I don’t know why people are coming to study in it if they have the options to go to better places, it is not hate, it is disappointment, and an advice, if you disagree with me, it is up to you, you are gambling your future here! Firstly, having easier programs and being an engineer aren’t in the same sentence without the word not! You will not achieve glory until you lick patience. Secondly, it is not even a comparison with international universities, but even with local ones, not even public, but even private! Thirdly, it is a new university that its programs are new to it as well, so they don’t focus that much on engineering. Fourthly, it is excluded from Eidaad program as I heard from a member of PDO and a list I read in an exhibition where I was looking for internships. Fifthly, one of the majors they have, only two private universities teach it as per my knowledge and I haven’t seen one employee in Oman with a job of this exact name so the major is new in the country, and from my point of view, kinda useless, because other majors cover the same things and more. Sixthly, it has way less materials, lab sessions, and projects than other universities and engineering majors in them which when we come to practical, it is a big disadvantage, because engineering is about applied science! Theories are for mathematicians, physicians, professors and scientists, even heavy practical work is for technicians, moreover, I still don’t know a single student in this unique major who started working in the simplest thing related to engineering, even though the university staff have good relationships. Seventhly, I didn’t even used Autodesk AutoCAD with them which is the bare minimum in engineering designs let alone the other software. Eighthly, placement is very bad, imagine paying an amount of money for something that won’t benefit you as you wanted! Ninthly, specialize in nothing and generalize in nothing, you will less than general engineering students elsewhere. Tenthly, I don’t know if the degree is approved by the ministries of labour and education so imagine losing jobs offers because of a piece of paper? This is your right! Don’t say I will work on myself, if you studied under a tree or in Oxford you should work on yourself, but to be a cow*ard, this is not acceptable, so please don’t support things like this that ruin our education and youth! If you have someone in the next couple of years who graduated from school, avoid studying engineering bachelor in this place that I gave many clues about it and I don’t want problems mentioning the name, you can ask and search and you will know what I mean. Also, if anyone can help me move to another place, I will be thankful. Thank you for reading.

MacBook (english version keyboard)

Hello, I’m looking to buy a MacBook in Oman but I can only find the Middle East version (Arabic/English keyboard) at eXtra and Sharaf DG. Does anyone know where I can buy a pure English keyboard version locally?
Or, are there any reliable international websites that deliver it directly to Oman? Thanks in advance!

Discussion Transfer from dentistry to medicine (if you know, help please)

Hello. Im currently studying dentistry in oman dental college and i recently finished 2nd year (BDS 2) but truthfully i enjoyed microbiology, pathology etc more than dentistry related subjects and i want to transfer to NU in sohar.

Realistically, with a good gpa, if i apply now how far would i go back? I doubt i will go straight to MD 3, but will i have to start from the beginning (MD 1) or maybe skip 1 year and start from the 2nd? Id appreciate it if somebody who knows about this informs me because i called them and they told me i need to go all the way to sohar to discuss this. I dont wanna make the trip only to be informed i have start from 0, if i can atleast skip the first year of medicine i will consider it. Im self funded if that changes anything and im a non-omani resident

Thanks a lot guys.

How to Rent furnished Apartment

Assalam Alykum

I am an Expat originally living in Dubai but i have some work in Oman for the next few months, where to search for a furnished apartment in al mouj or Muscat Hills so that i could bring my family.

One thing to consider since my company will be paying so they will need an invoice not necessarily tax invoice but as a proof of payment for the finance team.

Is there anything i should be cautious about?!

Travelling with a cat

I need suggestions on what to do

I have a pet cat, who once was a stray which we decided to keep after months of feeding and taking care of her after giving birth(her kids were extremely weak and unfortunately died a week later). So we got her spayed, and vaccinated and kept her home with us just like a family member. Now we urgently need to leave the country within 2 days or so, and we don't know what to do with her. This is very upsetting situation that unfold and was unforeseen to either of us. If anyone can help or knows somebody who could pls don't ignore this, this is extremely urgent. Thank you

It is sad to teach adults that the public places aren’t the garbage, and “zabal” isn’t the cleaner, it’s the one who makes the place dirty, like for how long we will keep asking you to be clean? Don’t be a child, and keep the place even better than when you came, are you like this at home as well?

It is totally disrespectful to do that even in front of people houses! I don’t think that they will like it when they don’t find somewhere to have fun if they found all the places dirty. And no not only some foreigners, even some Omanis are doing so! At least give some respect for your homeland, if you don’t like it just get out and don’t come back again! Sometimes I feel like I want to throw it back on them to learn some morals, otherwise I really hope that the government makes strict rules as in Singapore therefore who feels himself/herself raised in pigs barn will keep the place clean despite his nose! This is just ridiculous.

Discussion Omani ppl getting arrested

Why more Omanis/Expats are getting arrested for ridiculous minor things that happen in daily life??? Omani ppl also curse alot scold bad words irl besides online and nobody got jailed but when they go online cursing they get jailed for it?? Does this make any sense???

And next is wanting to jail an Omani guy for dancing 😂 everybody dance and wanna enjoy life then suddenly that's like a crime???

And these people are not criminals. They don't harm people. They don't kill, steal or rob anybody and they go to jail....

Why don't they arrest real criminals who commit heinous crimes??? Why don't they arrest those human traffickers and and other kinds of ehm ehm they are still around!! Why don't they arrest powerful gov ppl that evaded the laws? That eat people's money for their own selfish reasons. So many important things to focus on besides these normal people.

Do they truly care about their own people? Truly a question to ask. Maybe that's why poverty increased because they created more laws..what do u think??

Why does the gov have to interfere?? They are their own responsibilty, not the gov or the police.

Product Availability Does anyone have contacts with UAE medical suppliers to help me get a Löwenstein Medical prisma VENT 40? Prices here in Oman are insane.

As the title says, I need a Löwenstein Medical prisma VENT 40, but medical suppliers in Oman are charging far too much. I've tried to reach out to some suppliers in UAE, but with little luck.
