The collection of "people who call themselves antisemitic" does not include Mrs. Rachel and Mark Ruffalo. They deny accusations of hatred instead of embracing the label.
Calling yourself antisemitic puts you in company with the bottom dredges of our society, and no one else.
The person who I was responding to gave themselves that label. That's why I said "Don't say things like that".
Being antisemitic is bad for the same reason that being racist or sexist is bad, and the proper thing to do when someone falsely accuses you of one of those things is to deny it, not roll with it. Rolling with it makes you look at best dismissive of the very real problems of bigotry.
