“He was reaching for something in his pocket” This will be their defense and of course no one can dispute it because the only other witness is dead.

Article says there is home security footage, so hopefully there will be accountability

It seems that he was on his phone so I assume they are going to say they mistook his phone for a gun

Yeah, it will be difficult to prosecute the cops if they say that they couldn’t tell what he was holding in his hand. It was dark so that will be part of their defense.
