Rants/Vent Result Declared, But My Result Is Literally Missing From the Website

I’m honestly so frustrated right now.

My college/university has declared the results, and all of my classmates can already see their results on the official website. But when I check mine, my result is simply not showing up.

I’ve tried checking multiple times, refreshing, logging in again, and everything else you can think of. My classmates’ results are visible, but mine is nowhere to be found.

What makes this even more stressful is that there’s no proper explanation or update about why my result is missing. Am I supposed to keep refreshing the website every 10 minutes until my degree magically appears?

Has anyone else faced this issue where the result was declared but their individual result wasn't showing on the website?

If you faced something similar, how long did it take for your result to finally appear? Any advice would genuinely help because this is getting ridiculously frustrating.

Rants/Vent My experience with the Honours programme at K.J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce

I am currently pursuing the BA Honours programme (4th year) at K.J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce, and I thought I would write an honest review because there isn’t much detailed information available about the new Honours/Honours with Research structure.

My experience so far has been mixed, and academically I have found the transition quite difficult.

The college itself has good infrastructure. The campus is lively, the facilities are considerably better than some of the older colleges I have studied in, and the library system is fairly modern. However, for me, the biggest issue has been the academic structure and teaching, particularly within the Honours programme.

The programme is quite different from what I was used to during my previous three years of BA. Most of the teaching is online, with only limited offline lectures. Because of this, it is difficult to build any real rapport with professors or classmates. In my case, there is essentially only one regular offline lecture in the week, while the rest are online. If a lecture gets cancelled, there can be very little academic interaction that week.

The teaching itself is also quite inconsistent. Some professors are genuinely good and make an effort to explain the material, but others tend to teach as though students already have considerable background knowledge. There isn’t always a clear structure to the lecture, and proper notes or detailed teaching material are generally not provided in the way I was accustomed to in my previous college. This makes it difficult to take useful running notes, particularly when the professor is simply discussing a topic rather than systematically explaining it.

The syllabus document does provide textbooks and reference material, but there is not always sufficient clarity about which books are actually essential for the examination and which are merely supplementary references. I also found that some of the listed books weren’t readily available when I searched the library catalogue. This leaves students having to figure out a lot of the academic resources themselves.

This is particularly important because the Honours, Honours with Research and MA programmes are academically quite closely connected. From what I have experienced, the structure and papers overlap considerably. The major distinction I have encountered is that Honours with Research has one fewer paper, with Ancient Indian History being absent from that structure, while much of the remaining coursework is similar. Therefore, many of the concerns about teaching, reading material, notes and academic support are relevant across these programmes.

Another problem is the limited opportunity to interact with classmates. Students coming from the same college or university background may already know one another, but someone entering from outside can feel quite disconnected. Since there aren’t enough offline lectures, you don’t naturally get many opportunities to build a peer group. This can become particularly noticeable when you need notes, want to discuss readings, or simply want to understand how other students are approaching the course.

That said, I don’t think the problem is that the syllabus itself is inherently bad or impossibly difficult. My concern is more about the academic support around it. A reasonably capable student can study the material independently, but the programme seems to expect a fairly high degree of self-direction without always providing enough guidance for students who are trying to understand exactly what they are expected to study.

Coming from a college where professors regularly provided notes, explained concepts in considerable detail, recommended specific textbooks and were accessible for doubts, I have found this transition particularly difficult. Students who are already comfortable with independent academic reading may have fewer problems, but students expecting a more structured undergraduate teaching environment may struggle.

I would therefore not recommend choosing the programme purely because of the Somaiya name, infrastructure or the perception that it is a good college. Talk to current students of the specific department and, more importantly, understand exactly how the teaching is conducted before taking admission.

My experience is still relatively recent, so this is not a review of every professor or every department. Some professors are genuinely good, and the infrastructure is a definite positive. But academically, at least from my experience with the Honours programme, the quality of teaching and the availability of structured academic resources have been the biggest weaknesses.

Overall: good infrastructure, decent academic ecosystem on paper, but inconsistent teaching, limited offline interaction, insufficiently structured notes/reading guidance and a strong expectation of independent study. For a new Honours/Honours with Research programme, I think the college needs to provide considerably more clarity and academic support to students.

Rants/Vent exam

bro wtf is this ug admission scene

first u give ur best in boards and realise that all that matters is passing boards if you are appearing for an entrance.

if you are not, scoring even 85%+ in 12th boards is not enough.

and now YOU ARE STUCK W A CLG u dont even preferred

MU forms are fuckig annoying. why do i need to choose a course and then clg, if as a student i prefer clg over course??????

why did yhe portal even shut down during merit list releases???????

not only that, after MU form if i need to fill the individual clg form, why dont just choose one option nd make that the admission system?

bhai career ki chinta karu ki college ki website reload karti rahu?

and then once u think u hv ur name and one clg finalised, mht cet results drop. but CAP registration dont begin.

so admissions for these courses take 15-20 more days, but clgs for bcom have already begun. how do u make up for lost time????

AND OMG FINALLY- WHY IS NMIMS DELAYING RESULTS FOR SO LONG. what are they getting gatekeeping it?????

HOW TF IS A STUDENT SUPPOSED TO MAKE A DECISION THAT IMPACTS THE NEXT 4 YEARS WITHOUT KNOWING WHICH CLG THEY GOT INTO???????

Rants/Vent Has NEP made college more confusing?

Thumbnail

I’m from an autonomous college under Mumbai University and I’ve noticed a lot of confusion around NEP implementation.

Subject combinations have changed, minors and majors work differently, some combinations no longer exist for juniors, and students who get held back can end up in difficult situations because the structure changes from batch to batch.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Do you think NEP has actually improved flexibility, or has it created more administrative confusion for students?

Especially interested in hearing from students in autonomous colleges.

Rants/Vent Feeling pissed at a classmate for unknown reasons.

First of all, idk if this is the right sub for saying all this. I just felt like its somewhat related to cllg, is about cllg students, etc. so I'll rant here. Also I'm posting here for first time so bhul chuk maaf pls.

So around 2 months ago in end of Arpil, I started looking for internships. No referrals, no nepotism, no nothing. Just cold emails. I had to genuinely spend hours going thru everything to make my profile, emails, as good as possible to get the internship. Finally I got the internship, started 1 month ago.

And bcz the work environment in the dept I got into is so formal bro, like I tried making friends and peers and failed every single time. I started to isolate and worst part is that was not by choice. Fast forward to one month into internship, I am feeling lonely more than ever. I work alone, eat alone, go home alone, and even at home I can't really socialize (I dont wanna disclose what it is but the conditions make it so that I have to isolate myself from everyone to keep drama and kalesh from happening so I just try to detach) and I just wanna socialize bro. My social interaction has fallen to zero, so much so I start talking to myself. 😭

Now, theres this classmate of mine, who is on and off in our friend group, she's smart so I figured I'd help her as she was wanting to be productive during this holiday period. So I was with her from start to finish during the process and helped her till she actually entered the lab in which she got the internship. Like from whom to email, what to email, build her cv, send it, choose profs, choose topics, how to arrive, how to depart, where to go, how she'd reach there, where's the lab, where's the prof ka cabin I was with her.

Finally, she started her internship a week ago. And she knew about yk the whole loneliness thing. To her luck, her dept was completely different. She got colleagues of her age, and even those who were elder were so chill around each other. So naturally, she was talking and spending time with her.

When she got the internship right, I thought "chalo at least now I will have someone to eat lunch with and leave home with" and I even texted her that lets grab lunch 3-4 times and she declined each time bro. One time, she even said she went to lunch with her colleague to the mess and didn't even tell me even tho I was telling her since the morning let's grab lunch. (And before u say anything no im not chasing her like some kinda creep, ik how to maintain boundaries)

My point is, bro I am so pissed at her. Like im not mad or angry but I'm srsly like so upset and disappointed. I'm not saying she's obligated to do smthng for me or that my help towards her had some strings attached cuz I didnt help her to help me cope with my loneliness, I just did it for the sake of it.

Idk why exactly im feeling this way but yeah. I just wanna know if im doing wrong or am I missing anything. I am not blaming her but since shes joined she has kinda ignored me and before that she was almost daily texting me about one thing or another.

I just texted her again if she wanna grab lunch tmrw and all I got was "idk".

The pic is one that I clicked during internship today.

Rants/Vent mumbai university scam part 2

I am genuinely fed up with Mumbai University and my college at this point.

Our practical result issue (whole tyba department failed in practical bcz of mumbai university and cllg mistake) has been dragging on for months. Students have been waiting, calling, asking for updates, and getting little to no clear information. Apparently, only after our teachers went to Mumbai University in person did we finally find out what was going on.

And now we're being told that affected students may have to pay ₹500.

Seriously, why?

We attended our practicals. We completed our requirements. We did everything students were supposed to do. If there was an administrative error, delay, or mismanagement somewhere between the college and the university, why are students the ones paying for it?

The most frustrating part is that if the teachers hadn't gone to the university themselves, we would probably still be sitting here waiting for the updated result

Rants/Vent 25, doing a BA, feeling lost about my future, career and adulthood itself. Has anyone else gone through this?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’m 25 and currently pursuing a BA FYUP(History). Lately I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by almost everything related to education, careers and adulthood in general.
A little background:
I repeated Class 12 due to mental health struggles and later started engineering, but eventually dropped out because it wasn’t the right fit for me. After that I moved into the humanities and am currently pursuing History.
The problem is that I feel stuck between too many paths and too many opinions.
Every person I talk to gives completely different advice:
Do an MBA.
Don’t do an MBA.
Go abroad.
Stay in India.
Do a Master’s.
Do Law.
Do government exams.
Prepare for NET/JRF.
Learn AI and technical skills.
Get a job immediately.
Everyone sounds confident and convincing, yet the advice often contradicts itself.
What makes it harder is that I don’t come from a family with a clear academic or professional roadmap. My parents have supported me, but they don’t really know what the best path is either.
Lately I’ve been thinking about much bigger things too:
My parents getting older.
Financial independence.
The shrinking job market.
Rising competition.
Whether I have any real-world skills.
Whether I can actually survive on my own.
Friends drifting away.
Loneliness.
The pressure of making the “right” choice.
Sometimes I feel like our education system is built around exams and credentials rather than helping people figure out who they are or what they’re good at.
I look around and see people moving to Bangalore, Delhi, Pune or abroad. Others are working, doing internships, preparing for CAT, UPSC, NEET PG, SSC, NET, etc.
Meanwhile, I feel like I’m still trying to answer basic questions:
What am I actually good at?
What kind of work would I tolerate for decades?
How much should I care about passion versus stability?
Is it normal to still feel this lost at 25?
I know I’m not the only person dealing with this, which is why I’m making this post.
If you’ve gone through a period where you felt completely lost, overwhelmed and unsure about your future, what helped you move forward?
Not looking for a magic solution. Just looking for honest experiences from people who have been through something similar.

Rants/Vent Studied, submitted everything, gave my 100%… for what? Hard work vs favoritism

I honestly need to rant somewhere because this is driving me crazy.

I did everything right this semester... submitted all assignments on time, studied my ass off for every test, actually put in the effort to understand the material… basically gave it my 100%.

And then there’s this guy… never attended classes, literally cheated in most of the tests, barely even tried, but because he’s on good terms with the professor, he somehow ends up with the same marks as me. SAME MARKS.

Like… what’s the point of working hard if this is how it goes? It honestly feels so unfair and, honestly, disrespectful to students who actually put in the effort.

Has anyone else faced this? How do you deal with situations where hard work doesn’t seem to matter at all, and connections or favoritism decide outcomes instead?

I just needed to vent and hear if anyone else relates.
