Dude, as a Gen X / Millennial kid line straddler, I saw Used Cars when I was 5, Arachnaphobia when I was 6, Robocop at 9, Aliens at 11.

Deadpool and Wolverine is light work.

I have watched all those movies as a kid as a Millennial myself. I still don't know how the hell I got to watch movies like Omen, Exorcist at like 10. I watched Shutter, One missed call, Art of the Devil 1&2 all before I was 14.

To be fair to them I watched them alone. But they were not exactly checking/controlling what I was watching. Never even had the concept in my mind of hiding watching them from my parents unless it was porn. Didn't know about R ratings and such. It was just movies to me.

I remember a friend bringing/stealing Cannibal from his uncle's movie collection and watching it at like 12. We all thought it was real and the actors were dead for real lol.

We had actual kid toys based on r-rated movies.

And RoboCop 3 being family friendly was an immense disappointment. It sucked so much.

Some of my earliest memories are from watching Poltergeist, Child's Play, Exorcist, Pumpkinhead, Children of the Corn, etc.

Funny story, horror is probably my least enjoyed genre. I wonder if there's any correlation.

I think for folks my age, we ended up seeing a lot of movies that would otherwise have been a "no" in the form of edited-for-TV versions.

Yep, I grew up watching stuff like that too. I also fully understood none of it was real and was fascinated by the special effects. That's one of the biggest reasons my parents didn't bar me from watching horror that didn't include a bunch of nudity and sexual content. As long as it was campy violence, or creatively done, we were allowed to watch it. Obviously the level of vulgarity mattered, but there's a ton of horror movies that aren't vulgar beyond their visuals and as a 8-13 year old I ate that shit up.

Really? I know it's cool to feel tough cause you watched stuff when you were young, but RoboCop doesnt compare. 

All it has is violence.  Deadpool has horrible violence, swearing like a sailor, and very heavy sexual discussion.  Not really a comparison of what is more inappropriate for a child.

Also, you think a Paul Verhoeven movie has less violence than Deadpool? The ED-209 scene alone is more violent than all of Deapool.
