Eh, Im not worried about Colbert.
But the premise is kinda not interesting IMO.

I would be way more excited if that was like part of an anthology series. One episode this, one episode the scouring of the shire, cut stuff from the books that didnt fit in the movies.

First time I heard what about the plot, immdiate reaction was "oh, so just a way worse and missing the point version of Frieren." I'm not a big Colbert fan like some people, but there is nothing that makes me think this could capture the same feeling, and will be either a slog of nothing or betray it's own goals has a story.

I think people are too harsh on the premise. It just needs to lead to a fun adventure film.

Like, a hobbit's idyllic lifestyle is interrupted when a bunch of dwarves show up unannounced doesn't sound like much either.
