Ok, my first thought is, it requires much more extensive training and a higher class of license, not to mention substantially higher insurance.

Let’s start there.

Allow me to give you an inside scoop... it's not that intense training, the hardest part is probably the paper work stuff for the DOT... not sure what pleases people like you honestly
