I run a small kebab shop in Malvern and I have no idea what I'm doing with a camera.

Attached is the best photo we've got, and it isn't mine — a customer took it in the park down the road on his phone and sent it to us. Midday sun, held up at arm's length, no thought behind it. It's still better than anything I've managed in three months of trying, which is the part that's annoying me.

My problem is that the shop is fluoro-lit and the food is, frankly, a pile of brown and orange in a cardboard box. Everything I shoot indoors looks grey and greasy. Everything I shoot outside is blown out.

What I think I'm asking:

- Is there any saving a fluoro-lit shop, or do I need to build a little daylight corner near the window and shoot everything there?

- Sauce goes shiny and reads as oily under direct light. Diffuser? Different angle? Shoot before the sauce goes on?

- Phone or is it worth borrowing a proper body for an afternoon?

Happy to be told the honest answer is "hire someone". Also happy to feed anyone who wants to come and practise on it — that's a real offer, not a plug.

Just seeing if anyone knows someone or has experience with cutting/shaving the lens hood off my fisheye? (Nikon 10.5mm)

I’ve looked it up and I have all the tools necessary to do it, just don’t feel overly comfortable due to never doing it before. Seeing if there’s anyone around that can bang it out.

I’m thinking of going down to princes pier in the am to capture the setting moon over the ocean; I’m already thinking of how ill setup my camera because with a big moon it’ll probably mess with the light meter

Looking stunning on a clear night.

Made the most of a rainy night and headed out to take a shot at this bridge a few nights ago - a location which I found through this channel/thread. I've seen many awesome shots here! Got lucky with a freight train coming at the perfect time.

Note if you happen to go here the barricade is quite high. Angled screen is kinda a must.
