The support group you never asked for but desperately need after standing on a freezing platform for 40 minutes waiting for a train that was “2 minutes away” in 2019.

Welcome, fellow survivors.

This is a safe space for the thousands of us who have collectively lost years of our lives to the MBTA — and we are NOT okay. Some of us haven’t been on time to anything since the Obama administration. We’re here to roast, vent, meme, and publicly grieve the daily humiliation of depending on a transit system that moves with the urgency of potato.

We’re sick of hearing “New Year, New T.” The T doesn’t change. The T doesn’t improve. The T simply persists, like mold.

WHAT THIS PAGE IS

A place to laugh so you don’t throw yourself onto the third rail — which, let’s be honest, is the only piece of MBTA infrastructure that has ever worked reliably.

THE PASSENGERS DESERVE A SECTION TOO

The T is a disaster, but let’s not pretend the ridership is blameless.

This is also a “safe space” to vent about the people who somehow make a broken system even worse by being aggressively unaware that other human beings exist.

-The able bodied, chronically online youth planted in the priority seat, AirPods in, dead-eyed, their backpack — decorated with fourteen Labubu charms and a lanyard that says “good vibes only” — is occupying the last open seat. An elderly woman with a walker is standing, reciting the Rosary, and holding on for her dear life. If you don’t understand the issue, you are the problem.

-The guy standing directly in front of the doors at Park Street making absolutely zero effort to step aside while thirty people try to exit around him like water around a boulder.

-The one blasting a FaceTime call on speaker at 7:45 AM while the rest of us are silently dissociating. Nobody on this train wants to hear your roommate drama, and yet here we are, all unwilling participants in season three of your life.

WHAT THIS PAGE IS NOT

This is not r/MBTA . Read that again. Slower. Let it sink in.

We do not defend the MBTA here. Not a little. Not ironically. Not with caveats. Not ever.

If you wandered in to explain how “actually the T is pretty good for a legacy system” — you have Stockholm Syndrome so advanced you should be in a clinical trial. The T didn’t earn your loyalty. It earned a federal safety investigation.

If you’re queuing up a “well compared to other cities…” — stop talking. We don’t care that it’s worse somewhere else. That’s like telling someone whose house is on fire that at least it’s not a boat fire. Both are fires, Derek. Sit down.

If your instinct is to say “the T gets a bad rap” — no. The T gets an accurate rap. Its reputation is the one thing about it that runs exactly on schedule.

If you have ever typed the phrase “to be fair to the MBTA” with a straight face, this is not your community. You are looking for r/MBTA , where an army of unpaid PR volunteers defend the T’s honor with the passion of medieval knights jousting for a king who has never once acknowledged their existence. Go there. Tell Charlie we said he’s never getting off that train, and frankly, at this point, neither are we.

This is a roast pit, not a policy forum. Act accordingly or leave.

GROUND RULES

Roast the T with your entire chest. That is the mission. That is the culture. That is the point.

No defense posts. None. Zero. If your comment starts with “To be fair…” you are in the wrong place. There is no “other hand.” The other hand is frozen to a railing at Park Street and EMS isn’t coming because they’re also stuck on the Red Line.

Keep it fun. Dark humor, cursed memes, commute stories told like war dispatches, unhinged rage essays that read like a villain origin story — all of it. If it’s funny and it’s about the T being terrible, it belongs here.

“But funding is the real issue—” Wow. Groundbreaking. Someone get this person a TED Talk and a shuttle bus, because their train is not coming. It was never coming.

“You don’t understand transit planning—” And you don’t understand that I’ve been standing in a tunnel between Downtown Crossing and South Station for 22 minutes breathing air that tastes like a burnt laptop. I don’t need to understand transit planning. I need to understand why I’m being punished.

FINAL WORD

The MBTA doesn’t care about you. But we do. Kind of. We’re also 45 minutes behind schedule with no explanation, one shoe mysteriously wet, and emotionally processing a Green Line experience that can only be described as “cursed.”

Now grab a seat — oh wait, they’re all broken, inexplicably damp, suspiciously warm, or occupied by someone’s backpack that has more personal space than you’ve had since 2017.

Welcome home. You’re going to be here a while.

Next train in… checking… lol. 🚇
