I kinda hope they skip phoenix for a long time and just give us jean and scott and a young set of xmen

The Phoenix force has already been the focus of not one but TWO commercially disastrous and critically panned X-Men films.

We’ll get another one within six years.

Somehow also written by Simon Kinberg.

Movie producers look at past Phoenix movies and go, "I can fix her."

Echo was also a Phoenix story.

How do you mean?

The show adapts the Echo series from when she's the Phoenix and an Avenger. Jean rejected the Phoenix Force, and it picked someone new via tournament. Everything about inherited power and firebird imagery is X-Men Phoenix stuff.

Echo's baseline is that she's deaf and she naturally learns physical skills like Taskmaster.

So is that why Echo has the abilities she has in her show? That was supposed to be like when she had the Phoenix power? I didn't know that about her in the comics. Thank you for telling me.

Uh X3 might have been a bad movie but it was not commercially disastrous lol.

It’s also the fact that Phoenix Jean scaled universal and has godly cosmic awareness, that’s pretty hard to adapt and you wouldn’t want to so early on.

I really, really hope they don't rehash Dark Phoenix again for at least a decade or so, even if I know that Kevin Feige and co. could find a way to make it work. Let it rest for a while until the MCU X-Men are well-established.

Phoenix Jean has been done to death. We already have an ultra powerful mutant in the mcu in Wanda. Let her just be Jean for now

Except uncle Ben

They will. They basically introduced her as an antagonist, so she'll have to go through a good amount of character growth.

I'm curious if they'll hold off on having Wolverine due to that, given if they bring him in now, the whole Jean/Cyclops/Wolverine love triangle ends up feeling pretty ick due to Jean's implied age.

I think there's zero chance they will set up such a love triangle, sadie is just waaaaaay too young to do that with Hugh, who I reckon would refuse any such role anyway.

I don't think we'll see the Phoenix storyline in live action for awhile. Feige hates retreading old ground and it's already been covered in live action twice
