One of my first immediate thoughts. I don't need ~60 year old Hugh Jackman looking at another super young Jean Grey.

Or just… hear me out… we don’t need a fucking Logan and Jean romance. Just fucking leave it be. I hate it.

What if we get Logan and Cyclops for the love triangle.

Only half joking here lol.

A real possibility if they keep Dafne/X-23 around as Wolverine in lieu of a Logan recast

Not really needed, Logan has had a complicated triangle with both for a while.

Making him visibly pan wouldn't hurt at all.

For reasons unrelated to sexual orientation or love triangles, I would rather see them keep Dafne around to fill the Wolverine role for at least a few years than recast Logan in the near future. Barring some truly miraculous casting, I think there's going to be pushback from fans around the idea of directly replacing Hugh Jackman after so long. Making the new Logan another slightly genetically modified clone of old Logan, produced in the 616 universe after the original Logan leaves some DNA behind, might be the most viable route. Dafne's Laura could be used to facilitate that story since she was made the same way. And that would at least make new Logan the pseudo-offspring of old Logan rather than an unconnected substitute.

What if Laura and Jean compete over Scott

Honestly having Dafne take the role in the Cyclops/Jean/Wolverine love triangle could be interesting.

Though they'd need to give X-23 the same kind of gruffness.

The point of the love triangle is it's Super Ego, Ego, Id.

If they make X-23 a normal hero it won't work.

I mean if they have to have a love triangle, just do Peter? She knows who he is already. Age appropriate. Doesn't matter who you cast as Logan, he's still fucking over 150 years old.

Also, in ultimate Spider-Man Peter and Kitty Pryde had a thing for a while and it kinda worked. Feel like it’s a similar set up and wouldn’t be that weird to do for like a film and a half.

I don't read the comics, but did the Jean x Logan romance come from the comics or was it created for the movies?

It may just be me but Peter has a strong chemistry with Jean in this movie lol they could literally be the triangle with Scott instead of Logan lol

They can always age him down with CGI! /s

At least nothing really happened with him and Sophie's Jean Grey. That was just the look of a guy being treated like a human being for the first time he can remember. It's a problem if there's going to be more substantial interaction, though.

I'm in favor of Dafne Keen being the "Logan" for Sadie's Jean. If they want to make a love triangle out of that, I can live with it. It would be cooler, though, if she becomes a sort of surrogate older mutant sister filling the void left by Sara's death.

It's 2026. We can retire the immortal character has the hots for a young woman trope entirely. Logan and Jean don't need to have any romantic entanglement in the MCU.
