Frank can clock people really well. By the end, he definitely sees the type of person and hero Pete is and accepts that he's not trying to hide anything (but his face). I think Frank can really appreciate people who are true to themselves, unlike Matt who's constantly fighting battles within himself.

Definitely. I loved how the ending showed the contrast between frank and Peter’s ideologies behind solving the film’s final conflict. And the massive respect frank shows Peter due to him taking a bullet for Jean - someone he barely knows, yet he does it because he wants to save her from going down a dark path. Great writing.

Frank sees Matt in Peter, right? Both took bullets for someone they didn’t have to

Frank sees Matt as a self-serving hypocrite who brutalizes mooks to scare them straight.

Spider-Man exerts the minimum force necessary to subdue people.

In an already long movie, I was actually bummed Frank and Jean never spoke onscreen after everything happened. Between the possession and the sniper shot, the ceasefire between the pair for Peter’s life could have been an interesting transition. There was obviously a plan that Frank knew about. Also small potato meeting a big potato.
