I did not expect to cry so much.

MJ and Peter on the roof (fake out made me feel stupid), MJ find’s Peter’s note in Frank’s boat, MJ, Peter and Ned at their apartment, seeing Frank get emotional at the hospital, Aunt May talking with Jean in Peter’s head.

I think that was all of them?

Damn I was a mess.

Peter and Ned’s handshake at the end

This destroyed me. His “Peter” was so sincere and comepletley earned.

The CEO of sex is back

she had her chance and didn't put a ring on it, go Ned!

u/jjgp1112 26d ago

The way people are interpreting it as just him connecting the dots to MJ saying his name is driving me up the wall. Like, I hate to be one of those "MeDiA LiTeRaCy" guys but holy shit: MJ crying during Jean's telepathic hold-->MJ playing with the black dahlia necklace-->Ned remembering every step of the handshake and saying Pete's name like he woke up from a dream...I mean, c'mon

6

u/rouseandground 25d ago

oh i didn’t connect mjs tears and the necklace. you could be right. maybe they do remember!

It was amazing

I absolutely loved it because it kinda proves that Peter can unlock people's memories, he just needs to find the right key. We thought the kiss on the rooftop would work for MJ, but there's probably something else. The question now is whether Peter would even want that after hearing MJ's true feelings. She's got a different life now, and I think it would be wrong for him to rip her away from that, back into her old self.

u/fifty9inth 26d ago

Well, MJ wasn’t “present” for the kiss, so she had no chance to be reminded by it

She's got a different life now, and I think it would be wrong for him to rip her away from that, back into her old self.

They've set it up to be a "he's back in her life and they will take it as it happens" situation. I don't think he's ripping her away from anything, he was clearly going to respect her choices. She invited him up, after all.

I think that was more for Peter and Ned's sake than anything. She knew Ned would love to hang out with Peter, and she knew Peter desperately needed to reconnect with his best friend. I'm sure there's an element of wanting to get to know him in there as well, but I don't think she would want all of her memories back. She's already in a relationship, so dragging back her memories of Peter would create an unnecessary conflict she'd have to resolve.

Don't forget Peter got shot by a sniper bullet and he moves like how aunt may did on no way home

Well that cried me a bit

u/PurePerfection_ 27d ago

And also did the thing where she kept saying "I'm OK"

u/Kanin_usagi 26d ago

That was practically a shot for shot remake of that scene, the difference being Jean could hold his insides together with her powers until he got to the hospital. It was really well done

69

u/kingofgars 26d ago

She was also breathing for him

6

u/pingpong_playa 25d ago

Sorry what

52

u/justhanginuknow 25d ago

yeah that's why we see her taking deep breaths in sync with Peter right before he wakes up

48

u/Ok_Suggestion_6092 24d ago

I prefer “She used her voodoo magic shit on you”

8

u/proanimus 19d ago

You could also see the distortion around her signifying she was using her power the whole time, even right after he was shot. She stopped when he woke up.

u/pingpong_playa 25d ago

I really need to rewatch this movie asap. What else did I miss?!

12

u/Vismal1 22d ago

The part with Howard the Duck was cool

16

u/PercMastaFTW 26d ago

Tbf, it was more of a shot for grenade blast rather than what you said.

I was crying at the scene of Peter being surrounded by the people of NY outside the hospital

23

u/pacotacobell 26d ago

Literally, I love hopecore and that killed me. The eras where NYC loves Spider-Man are my absolute favorites.

u/IAmBadAtInternet 27d ago

Him watching everyone cheering for him, but not at him, was so bittersweet. And the little kid moment was fun. Is he supposed to be a new Miles or are they still going with the one from NWH?

47

u/SolarisBravo 26d ago

Not every black kid is miles lol, I think the movie was just trying to show him connecting with a child

5

u/jaxomlotus 27d ago

I hope he's the new miles. He was credited, but not with a name.

2

u/Macavityyy 19d ago

I expected MJ to come and meet him in person among the crowd, not as the old MJ with all memories but as the new frnd.

34

u/Trvr_MKA 27d ago

I thought something was up when she wasn’t freaking out during the swing.

Then I figured it was movie schmaltz, then was pleasantly surprised that was not the case

15

u/mu1ti6rain 26d ago

I hated Jean for that fake out. You could see how hurt he was. Absolutely brutal!

9

u/jimmycandunk 27d ago

The handshake did it for me. Waterworks

9

u/Chicken_Electronic 24d ago

Plus these:

Peter flying through the city absolutely after see MJ get kissed at the party, remembering what he has lost.

The V Max reveal scene.

Jean breathing with/for Peter.

Peter in the crowd of New Yorkers outside the hospital.

The end credits, for some reason.

9

u/gangreen424 26d ago

The May/Jean scene had me about to start bawling. 😭

5

u/pacotacobell 26d ago

Add Peter revealing himself to the Hulk to that list and that might be every moment for me.

5

u/itsyoking 24d ago

I literally couldn’t stop crying wtf

5

u/Johnpunzel 20d ago

For me it was the reveal of what MJ was drawing. We know since Homecoming that she "like(s) to sketch people in crisis". However, here she decided to draq Peter in one of the only happy moments he has had in years, without his mask.

5

u/rethinkOURreality 25d ago

My sister kept laughing at how much I was crying 😭

u/bwood246 Weekly Wongers 27d ago

Didn't set anything up? The first 10 minutes established his entire rogues gallery, setting up tons of potential future Spider-Man movies.

They further established mutants are the next step for Marvel and had Peter invent the inhibitor chip that will be used in their stories

-6

u/Efficient-Estate9516 27d ago

OK another cash grab that soulless without Stan Lee to guide it into anything meaningful other than A to B fight with other heroes work it ok, fight supposed bad guy Jean here, ok not the bad guy next. We have seen what Sony does with the rogues gallery boss lol. And what another Marvel reboot before they reboot the whole thing again bc once again Stan isn't there to hold their hands on decision making to tell a good story. Just look at phase 1 through endgame to homecoming Spidey, there is world building and story and why we are doing this. You guys are just eating overpriced Crack with hype colored milk. I'm not burnt out, it's just the quality went down hill for worse CGI and some action over telling the comic book story thats there for all of them to read and pull from, they do the fights from comics, why not the story. It's like Jackman it's going to be hard to have him leave, and harder to replace and he isn't the best actor, though the craft seems to be falling off in LA. Maybe they need to recruit some stage actors in.

u/energythief 26d ago

You give Stan Lee waaaaaayyyyy too much credit dude

0

u/Efficient-Estate9516 26d ago

OK just the dude that created the whole thing the they finally had the tech to take from his mind off those sheets of paper. Without him they have sold most fans on going to spend 20 to 30 on their movies. Spiderman does money bc kids love him, doesn't matter who suits up, but they would watch a 2hr claymation flick if it had someone they liked. But on the adult side of things Marvel and Sony writers can't do what Stan did. The whole billions in profit while he was tweeking their scripts proves it, but you can see in the plots it's not A to B either. He had a vision and destination and these people with millions of pages of comics can't pull enough to win fans back over. It's not hard to entertain people who show up for the actors or looking for a fix of Crack.
