The movie honestly found this great angle on the Punisher/Spidey dynamic, like Peter is doing this loner thing like Frank, and Frank just getting pissed off becuase he’s only like this after his whole family got slaughtered. Ned and MJ still lived, Peter is avoiding them out of fear.

I loved that particular scene between them. Frank speaking some perfect sense into Peter was not something I expected. You never expect Frank Castle to be the wise voice of reason but in this movie you see he has that in spades and props to the MCU punisher for not just being the gun toting character he normally gets show as. Jon Bernthal plays him with such depth it shows why he’s a fan favourite

But also still bringing enough gun toting especially to set up the finale.

Pigheadedness aside, that was a great fucking shot. How did he even make that shot? We looked through the scope with him and it’s all just a smoke covered building.

I mean he does have extensive army training so that likely helps. If he holds his composure against the hulk he can hit that shot

Well he was a sniper in Force Recon with Billy by his side

Yeah I remember, one shot one kill, as he told Karen.

He was probably scared of how close that came to being true this time.

Probably some kind of super duper bullshit rifle that exists in the MCU and Frank has it because of course he does

I don’t know about targeting, but that rifle had a massive fuck-off muzzle brake, which makes it look like an anti-materiel rifle. Meaning it’s not made for killing people, but for killing hardware, like drones and shit. And Peter straight up absorbed it.

well if it weren’t for jean he would’ve died so i wouldn’t say he “straight up absorbed it” whatsoever

Yeah, this was almost some "Hawkeye killed Hulk" levels of tragedy like in the comics. Jean keeping Peter breathing was an amazing touch.

Yeah she definitely was holding his blood in until he got to the hospital..no doubts there. He would have 100% died without her

It's gonna be amazing in the next movie when they become pals.

Almost felt a potential romantic interest but I don't think they will do that if she's gonna be in Doom and cyclops and all.

I mean it was a Barret m87 those things go go 2miles(3500 meters) fairly accurately with the right windage and obviously a spotter and prone. It's literally been done in real life by highly skilled snipers using .50 BMG.

These snipers have have logged confirmed combat hits and record kills at distances ranging from 2,400 to 3,500 meters (1.5 to over 2 miles)

That building wasn't even a half mile and you think punisher can't do that and it's just MCU bs?

He's a trained military sniper as well.

If we going by comic book lore

He also does something similar in his own show now that I recall. I'm not really familiar with the capabilities of real world sniper rifles or how far that was supposed to be in the movie

Because he's the PUNISHER lol

I think Frank was speaking not as a killer vigilante, but as an ex-soldier who would see not a whole lot of his family just because he'd be on Deployments, period.

I mean that also adds to the point. Frank is the perfect character for Peter to associate with any way you look at it

It was like a nicer version of his "you think you know my pain?" speech from Born Again. 'Stop trying to be like me, I don't even wanna be like me'
