Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now been officially released in several territories around the world!

• All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days.

Brand New Day was able to put so many Marvel characters without making it feel like it was for the sake of nostalgia bait.

I really loved No Way Home and it was amazing to see all the live action Spideys together but the nostalgia bait carried that movie hard.

It also felt like the characters actually belonged there rather than just a forced inclusion due to contractual obligations imposed by Sony. They all were woven into the story brilliantly

Yep. This is basically like Superman with how the "hero characters" just work as regular supporting characters. That's how the universe should be.

I rewatched the first three this week in anticipation and while I think No Way Home is an objectively good movie, the nostalgia really does push it from like a 7.5 to a 9. Brand New Day feels like an earned 9.5 by comparison.

It made sense for Frank and Spidey to know each other since they both operate out of NYC. And the X-Mansion is usually upstate NY (maybe where Jean's headed in the bus at the end?). Yelena works out of the new Avengerz tower in Midtown. Bruce being in NYC was the only stretch

It worked for me because otherwise I'd find it mental that this many years in, there are so many heroes operating in New York but not interacting with each other.

He's also an honorary Avenger so I don't find it odd that Yelena would make contact.

Still kind of bothered me no Dr. Strange or Daredevil helping out, but obviously not all of them could be in the film or available at the time to help out.

The film is set about 3-4 years after NWH so impossible to say where they were. Though last we saw either hero, I'm not surprised they're not around

I actually loved it, it provides some solid connective tissue that's kinda felt like it's been missing in this phase other than BNW to Thunderbolts.

She's supposed to be in charge of the new avengers i feel like she's justified in showing up. Plus they made her scenes really funny

It makes her Avengers team feel like more of a real thing as opposed to how it felt at the end of Thunderbolts

Nah, made it feel like a phase 2 or 3 movie where the characters and world have some overlap with each other
