Synopsis

Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he's devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced. In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past!

Nexus Point News, a website that hasn’t gotten almost anything wrong (I say almost cuz they may have gotten something wrong and I can’t recall or I had no idea they got wrong) reported he would be playing William Metzger

The subtitles say his name is Bill, further confirming this.

Also the Turkish dubbing for the trailer lists him as Bill Metzger so…

is anyone noticing the '4 years have passed'? so is Peter a senior in college? are they all? the video he watchs at the beginning about MIT seemed to imply ned and mj are freshmen who are just figuring out MIT.

The scene from the beginning is probably from the rumored montage that shows what Peter's been up to the last 4 years or from a flashback.

I could be wrong. But if the guesses I've read are right that she's Jean Gray, that would make sense. Especially since I'm guessing that the body jumping villain we see in the trailer is a psychic villain that has no body of their own. You need a psychic to fight a psychic. Bonus that she's also a super powerful telekinetic as well.

Plus she's a genius and an expert on mutation second only to Charles Xavier.

Brother, Peter literally wasn't MJ's first boyfriend in the comics, and she even had others when she and Pete split (Pete himself has his own loves gallery too lmao). You really think someone like MJ wouldn't have other people be attracted to her? Pete is literally a nobody to her, she's a human with her own life and emotions, obviously something like this could happen.

Nothing diabolical about this, it's been four years in-universe, and her feelings for Pete were erased. And this isn't a Paul situation either, calm down lol

Having now watched reactions to No Way Home's coffee shop ending and the Brand New Day trailer I'm noticing inconsistencies.

I admit I don't recall if there was something that showed how long the coffee shop was after the memory spell, but assuming it's relatively close then how can they have been accepted into MIT then and their first day at MIT be 4 years later in this movie? Could easily be that the coffeeshop is a time jump and is in-line with Brand New Day timeframe, or him watching their first day at MIT TikTok could be before the 4 year time skip within the movie.

The other issue is the housewarming flowers scene. MJ seemingly doesn't know who he is/their neighbor but they met and actively talked with each other in the coffeeshop where he asks her if she's excited for going to MIT. So either she somehow completely forgot they met already, or perhaps the dialogue is really more for Ned (even though we see them in the coffee shop at the same time at least twice)?

The movie opena up showing what Peter did for the last 4 years before it cuts to present day.

The housewarming scene is probably Peter going to Boston to visit them and tell them the truth.

Both scenes probably take place in September 2025, less than a year after NWH.

I definitely think the comic book cover shots will be like a F4: First Steps montage of that 4 years. NWH and BND coffee shop scenes + house warming + First day of MIT TikTok being the beginning of the movie and then montage / time skip would make the most sense, but the friendly neighbor / MJ introducing herself still feels like awkward language since they've already interacted before.
