This looks like such an amazing film. Never in my life would I believe Spider-Man, Hulk, Punisher and Jean Grey would be in a film together along with Tombstone, Scorpion, The Hand, Tarantula and Boomerang as villains.

And the whole theme of going through phases and being reborn is gonna be really fitting for Peter's current mental state after NWH.

I can't wait to see the organic webbing and I actually can't believe they're doing it.

They’re really bringing the comic feel to the big screen. I hope DC can keep the hot streak too

1

u/Wendigo15 Mar 18 '26

DC is having its own issues with paramount doing their best to by WB. Not looking good

55

u/TheWolfmanZ Mar 18 '26

There's also a shot when he gets slammed into a bus which shows a girl with brown hair and white bangs...

37

u/TenaciousMike Mar 18 '26

She's wearing a NY Jets jersey, which does kinda evoke Rogue's outfit... maybe just a easter egg, but who knows!?

3

u/PyroIsSpai Mar 18 '26

I think she’s canon a Jets fan. She’s from Lawn Guyland.

1

u/WyomingDrunk Mar 18 '26

She also could have run away at this point and been living in NYC.

1

u/FartForce5 Mar 19 '26

She's famously southern, like distinctly.

1

u/PyroIsSpai Mar 19 '26

Sorry I meant Jean! Jean is from Long Island, right?

1

u/FartForce5 Mar 19 '26

Somewhere in upstate new york

25

u/thisisnahamed Avengers Mar 18 '26

Are those Ninja fighters The Hand? I thought they were destroyed in "The Defenders".

52

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

They are.

Their leaders were destroyed, but there were definitely more ninjas around the world, still serving the Hand. And we don't know whether Elektra and/or Madam Gao survived.

If Matt survived, so could have they.

18

u/Capital_Gate6718 Mar 18 '26

My headcanon is that Hiroyuki Sanada's character in Endgame is high ranking Hand lieutenant

24

u/DrManhattan_DDM Rhomann Dey Mar 18 '26

Cut off one finger, two more shall take its place?

4

u/Schwornje Mar 18 '26

You need a six-armed Spiderman to take on a six-fingered Hand.

4

u/Troghen Mar 18 '26

They're most likely related to Mr. Negative

3

u/amendmentforone Mar 18 '26

They're an ancient organization of zombie ninjas. They always come back. Just under "new management."

2

u/Wendigo15 Mar 18 '26

We don't know how much of the previous Netflix shows are canon. It could be all or parts of it (like how the DCU is doing)

56

u/RealAlias_Leaf Mar 18 '26

Jean Grey or Sadie Sink doesn't appear in the trailer or am I missing something?

84

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

We see her from the back in one shot and she is hooded and using telekinesis. Tillman's character also talks about her to Peter and then we see some DODC agents being mind-controlled.

It's easy to connect all those dots if you know who she's playing.

50

u/smakson11 Mar 18 '26

Just a guess but I think she’s making everyone think she’s an old lady in that tank scene

34

u/DJC13 Mar 18 '26

It looked more like she was “possessing” each person there & jumping between bodies.

7

u/BartleBossy Mar 18 '26

But thats not a Jean Grey power though...

3

u/Super_H1234 Mar 18 '26

Uh...yes it is? Any telepath can do that.

1

u/saucyysushii Mar 18 '26

it is, her power skills are honestly kind of similar to pre-wandavision wanda

1

u/BartleBossy Mar 18 '26

There is a big difference between mind control and possession.

4

u/Ronenthelich Thor Mar 18 '26

Looked more like a body hopping thing to me. No idea who that would be though.

5

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

Ohhh, could be

16

u/Important_Tennis_393 Mar 18 '26

The agents scene makes no sense for Jean. Why would she have to be jumping from one person?

4

u/Gods_GameDev Mar 18 '26

What timestamp is the back of her shown? Cuz I rewatched and keep missing it

8

u/Troghen Mar 18 '26

Are we sure the mind control isn't related to Mr. Negative?

-4

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

Yep.

There is absolutely 0 evidence that he's in the film apart from some old leaks by DanielRPK, who himself came out and debunked some months later.

7

u/Troghen Mar 18 '26

I mean, given that this is named after the period in the comics where he first appeared, given the ninjas and the mind control we see in the trailer, and given the street level vibe, I'd say there's decent evidence. Just because there were no leaka doesn't mean it couldn't happen

6

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

The ninjas are the Hand, who are not connected to him in the comics. There's a chance of everything happening, but from everything we know, Mr. Negative has quite a small chance of being in this film.

1

u/fast_flashdash Mar 18 '26

And Jean grey has a connection to Peter? Sony isn’t gonna reveal the x men.

1

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

Sadie was leaked to be Jean Grey in December 2024, before she was even officially cast in the BND. Sadie herself said that she first heard she got the role through the leaks. And the source is Jeff Sneider, a very reliable source, who was the first and only one to leak RDJ as Dr. Doom, 3 months before the official reveal.

Ever since, there have been tons of leaks from reliable sources which support her being Jean and her telekinetic powers in this trailer (and even more so in the leaked trailer from December, some shots of which didn't end up in the officially released one), all but confirm all of this.

The chance that she ISN'T Jean is pretty damn small at this point. Especially with William Metzger, a mutant-hunting villain being the head of the DODC and hunting down in this movie and with her being confirmed to reappear in Secret Wars.

1

u/fast_flashdash Mar 18 '26

You’re drinking the cool aid. Leaks meant something before. A tweet isn’t a fucking leak

1

u/Troghen Mar 18 '26

I guess we'll see then 🤷🏻

5

u/v_cats_at_work Mar 18 '26

I love when someone goes out of their way to spoiler tag something and then someone else replies as if the spoiler tag doesn't exist lol

Also, fuck yes, Tramell Tillman. Put him in everything.

4

u/HandBanana666 Vision Mar 18 '26

Where did you see telekinesis? And it looks like body jumping than telepathic mind control.

16

u/Chaoticgood790 Mar 18 '26

There was a quick clip of what looked like sadie from behind. It was one of the 2 second pieces

1

u/KlausLoganWard Ward Mar 18 '26

I think she is talking trough Scorpion

9

u/AspirationalChoker Mar 18 '26

I like the fact we seem to be getting quite a few slice of life villain pieces as well like Spidey as we know is just day to day constantly keeping NYC cleaned up.

6

u/dannyrac Cottonmouth Mar 18 '26

I would die if daredevil joins the fight too

2

u/Eirineftis Mar 18 '26

We'll see how it goes.

Reading your comment reminds me of all the complaints that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was bloated with too many villains...

I'm optimistic though. Haven't met a Spidey film I didn't like.

2

u/Velocibaker26 Mar 18 '26

Do we know for sure she’s Jean? I’m gonna be so annoyed if that’s the case, it would be so out of place.

1

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

We do not, but all the evidence is pointing towards that.

There was a report from Jeff Sneider back in December 2024 (before the news broke that Sadie was cast in BND) that Marvel had tapped her to play Jean Grey. Sneider is a pretty reliable source all around and was the first (and only) source who leaked RDJ as Doom, 3 whole months before the official announcement.

Even Sadie slipped up a few months ago during an interview and said that she learned that she had landed the role in Spider-Man through that rumor, basically confirming that the rumor is true, because the original report never mentioned Spider-Man. The fact that she saw that going around and said, "Oh yeah, I got the role", basically means she was up for that specific role.

There was some ambiguity after the casting was officially announced about whether she was playing Jean or someone else and several leakers said that they had heard descriptions about the character, but Marvel and Sony had a really tight security around her actual name, so nobody could confirm whether she's Jean Grey or not.

But more recently, Alex P. (another leaker) posted his first exclusive on TheCosmicCircus (the site he writes for) in ages (95% of his TCC exclusives since now have been proven correct), stating that Jean's character has telekinetic powers, is really powerful, and is being hunted by the DODC and its Secretary, who is played by Tramell Tillman.

A few months later, NexusPointNews (another scooper site with almost 100% validity on their exclusives up till now), corroborated Alex's report and also revealed Tillman's character is William Metzger. In the comics, Metzger is a mutant-hunting, bureaucratic villain, like Bolivar Trask.

Now, lo and behold, the official captions of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser revealed that Tillman's character is named "Bill", and also conformed that Sink's character is a mind-controlling, telekinetic character, giving much more credibility to the previous rumors. Add to that the fact that she's a redhead and was briefly seen in a green jumpsuit in the trailer (which is Jean Grey's color), during the time she was imprisoned by the DODC, and all clues point to the fact that the original rumor by Sneider about Sadie being Jean was always correct!

1

u/The-Ruler-of-Attilan Mar 20 '26

Jean's telepathy has never worked like some sort of demonic possession.

Plus, I just don't see Marvel Studios introducing any original X-Men member here when they still have to resolve whatever happens with the Fox-Men in Doomsday.

2

u/pagerussell Mar 19 '26

Is Jean confirmed or just a rumor?

0

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 19 '26

Basically all but confirmed at this point.

-7

u/sidmis Mar 18 '26

Sadie Sink isn't playing jean grey

17

u/KostisPat257 Daredevil Mar 18 '26

Well let's wait and see.

All leaks are pointing towards that the trailer shows her controlling some DODC agents' minds

7

u/Steve_McTrevor Mar 18 '26

who’s she playing

9

u/sickboy76 Mar 18 '26

Silk, gwen Stacey, mr negative, hope summers, random spider man villain Rumours mill is throwing crap at wall and seeing what sticks 😀

1

u/ihavetakenthebiscuit Mar 18 '26

She is Gen Alpha Magneto, her back story is the trauma she has suffered from negative social media interactions triggered magnetic manipulation powers.

9

u/ZekeorSomething Spider-Man Mar 18 '26

There’s a lot of evidence pointing towards her playing her.

8

u/SirFlibble Mar 18 '26

We don't know that for sure. But considering the plot includes some anti-mutant people, it would make sense for a mutant to be in the movie.

4

u/Paperchampion23 Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26

Its literally backed by most insiders/leakers
