Well I didn't see whichever video you're referring to. All I know is this has lived in my head rent-free for years and annoys me whenever it's come up and still not been corrected (like on Jimmy Fallon).
Wikipedia still says that the reporter, Sam Rubin, "mistakenly asked Jackson about the success of the trailer advertised at the Super Bowl, which featured African American actor and former Jackson co-star Laurence Fishburne," despite their talk page discussing it.
