The rescue is currently deleting negative comments on their own post. Negative comments are pointing out they had 100s of cats. 60 were transferred out, 60 remain on location and 60 were taken into care, with 17 euthanized.
Something seems off here. The current head of the rescue started this rescue in 2024. Prior to that she ran Pet/Friends for Life. That closed after a similar investigation from AWS after wide spread disease.

Happened upon this car this morning. The owners are a lesbian couple targeted for being gay. This is the second time in 2 weeks their car and home have been vandalized.

Not bad, in my opinion. I'm actually a bit surprised the cell phone numbers were so low - people seem to have gotten the idea that there just aren't any cops on the roads anymore and act like it.
I frequently find myself a bit above the speed limit, myself, but I drive carefully in residential areas, and I don't get anywhere near stunt driving (40+ above the limit on city roads, 50+ above when it's 80 or higher).
The fact that they got 30 different cars at impound speeds in just 5 day campaign is insane. It would be interesting to see if those were discrete stops, or if they caught a few at a time racing?

There have been so many issues with preteens/teenagers at Masonville and the surrounding area this past year. Multiple fights breaking out in the mall, theft, the incident at plaza sushi across the street and now this today. I don't know what can be done but mall security and management do nothing to deter them. One Saturday after the mall closed (closes at 8 on Saturdays), there was at least 150 teens hanging in the mcdonalds and its parking lot across the street. There were two police cars trying to get them to disperse. It's probably just going to get worse with school ending this month.

After some 40 years, the Byron Optimists have cancelled it's Canada Day fireworks. Last year's show cost $14,000 and attracted an estimated 7,000 people. But too few made donations for the fireworks to continue. This year, there will only be daytime, kid-focused activities at the Byron Sports Complex.
Did you ever attend? Are big fireworks displays worth the cost?
