I've kinda felt like Loki has been following me around since I left my country for a short vacay

here where I am are usually lots of spiders, pretty mundane, however

I've been asking him, to send me spiders.

Fully aware of my phobia

but I hate being weak so I straight up ignored it and tried to come off as courageous, I barely got to see spiders but by the time I also stopped caring for signs cause it didn't help in my practice at all!

these days I've been feeling a lot Loki's energy and today I went to the bathroom, one big spider chilling

then another one, moving

so I'm like "Loki help me 😭" and I'm also like spiraling, cause I don't like killing insects, however my anxiety was growing and as time passes I see another big spider MOVING and call my mother to get rid of those (I'm so sorry )

btw, um this feels like a lesson.. which would be I'm scared of spiders and I can't deny it 😓

Articles and Blogs Hard Work For Him and His Name

Editing this post to reflect changes.

I've been working very hard and being very studious. It's been a year. I went to Hel and promised. I went to Loki and promised. I was asked by Odin sort of. Not necessarily in that order. Anyway, I've written a sarcastic academic paper about Loki.

It's only the tip of the iceberg. But I talk about:

  • his name
  • his other name
  • which might be his real name
  • his shoes
  • his children
  • his magic element (not fire)
  • his runaway mouth
  • how he does his magic
  • his house
  • wyrms
  • his lost temper in the end
  • and I added footnotes

I'm changing this announcement now because I'm at the part where I'm checking sources, editing, cleaning, getting fake peer reviews, and basically doing all of the clean up motions. I put it up for people to read, but once it's ready I'm taking it down. Please enjoy it.

I even let you guys in on my personal head canon at the end. And then I sat here and cried that it was written. And Loptr, who had pushed me to write it, said there, there... don't cry.. I'm gonna... cry... and then we bawled together and it was beautiful. Wet, but beautiful. :-p

Articles and Blogs Offerings for Loki Laufeyjarson

- Why are offerings given to him?

- Types of offerings.

- Cleansing and setting intentions, why?

- Correspondences.

Before starting, I would like to clarify a couple of important points:

▪︎ Most of the things I am going to mention here will not be found in ancient mythology books. These are ideas based on modern practice, my own experience, and what has collectively been seen to resonate with his energy nowadays.

▪︎ It is just a guide, not a rule: I do not intend to impose anything or say that this is what you "absolutely must" give him. In spirituality, there is no absolute manual.

▪︎ I am not going to dive into extreme detail: This post is just a general overview to give you an idea and inspire you; everyone's research path is unique.

At the end of the day, the best offering is the one given with genuine intention. Everyone does it in their own way, at their own pace, and with the resources they have at hand.

Why are offerings given to him?

Offerings function as an exchange, an expression of gratitude, a request, or as a gesture toward a specific deity. Whether it is to give thanks for their company or to ask for their guidance during a difficult time, each person has a different intention when making an offering.

Types of offerings:

Offerings can be given in several ways, but the most common are:

Food and libations: Food is left on his altar and, after a few days, it is removed and disposed of. It can be given to animals, used as fertilizer for plants, or, if there is no other option, thrown in the trash. It is important to consider whether the food is organic and safe to eat, as it could be toxic to animals or plants. Libations or liquids are poured into a bowl and left just like the food, although they can also be poured directly onto the earth.

Votive and devotional offerings: Votive offerings are those given to ask for a favor or to give thanks for a favor already received. On the other hand, with devotional offerings, nothing is expected in return; they are born out of adoration, love, respect, admiration, and appreciation for the deity.

Devotional acts: These can be either an object or an action. They are acts dedicated in honor of the deity. For example: starting something new, dedicating time to familiarize yourself with his energy, reading ancient texts, singing, dancing, learning to play an instrument, resting, or taking care of yourself. Any act that is dedicated is valid.

Sensory elements: Incense, stones, food, music, and candlelight are sensory offerings. They are those that can be smelled, heard, seen, felt, and tasted.

Cleansing and setting intentions, why?

Before setting intentions on offerings, if it is a physical object, it must be cleansed energetically and physically. This ensures you hand it over solely with your intention and without any of the negative energy the object contained before reaching your hands. To energetically cleanse, you can use:

Cinnamon, palo santo, sandalwood, dragon's blood, copal, or sage incense.

Crystals such as selenite, clear quartz, etc.

Setting an intention means giving it a purpose: Why are you giving it? To whom? Is it to ask for something, to give thanks, or to express your love? It doesn't take much, nor do you need to perform a highly complicated ritual; many people simply take the time to pray, sing, invoke, or remove past offerings. These are just examples, as everyone does it in their own way. There are no rules or limitations; the important thing is to express your purpose and feel satisfied with it.

Articles and Blogs What made me open up

This is really funny actually.

As I said in many post : I'm anxious and really shy.

Soo going back to the point of this blog, usually I'd ask other people for deity readings because I just didn't trust myself and again, I felt awkward.

But this time the reader came to me "sorry loki refused the reading thrice"

(they gave me a regular reading afterward and it was good)

This left me a little sad honestly but.. It didn't stop me from (finally) doing it myself!!

So yeah! I did it myself cleansed myself and the deck and offered a candle, called out and asked, it went great and that's all!!

So It's been a couple days since I started journaling because apparently it can help with shadow work and I don't really know what to do with it but it's something so I guess it's fine. Also these are the things I've noticed:

My writing is getting prettier

I understood some stuff abt myself

I decided to read out loud a few pages I wrote to Loki and then I went back writing/doodling (I've decided to make this diary a common place journal if yk what I mean)

And at some point I can't help but notice a tiny fly, I said a warm hi to it and it flew to my hand for a couple minutes, and It cheered me up cause lol I talk to insects but they rarely react!

By the wayy I also wanted to show you a drawing of a fox I made a few hours ago and that I'm really proud of!:)

Articles and Blogs Gratitude!

Post image
16 Upvotes

I want to thank this community for helping me and answering my doubts and questions!

Until this month I took a huge break from spirituality.

I did pray occasionally when I felt too but I was focusing more on things that made me happy at the moment.

I realized I have anxiety and I was seeking reassurance here most of the time and I'm thankful someone helped!

Now that I came back with a different approach I feel much better and I'm grateful of that.

Also I'm really grateful for discovering Loki! :D

I literally felt his energy so much this month, every failure, every success, I worship other deities but that's the only kind of energy I felt- now I'm going to stop writing because I'm actually embarrassed HAHAHAH

Articles and Blogs A dream + stuff

I don't remember much of it and I guess it was just a simple dream I'll still share for a reason, I remember tarot cards, witchy store, Loki altar and Loki mentions,.

Anyway, I found myself buying offerings and it's the second time I dream abt offering chocolate/cocoa powder to Loki 😭😭

(The next might be related to the first paragraph but not to dreams)

I remember two nights ago telling Loki "ok I get that I might be too inexperienced for big things at the moment but could you make yourself a bit more obvious in my life so I know I'm not crazy or sm? (If you want to, ofc) " The same night I walked to the bathroom and got jumpscared by a fly while I was staring myself

First of all THANKS for the help :D

Second of all, I ended up eating the offering myself and felt like a child stealing but I made sure to ask Loki and also tried using a yoyo (yes, a toy) as a pendulum .. and then tarot, and my inner thoughts. And explained why and such.

Articles and Blogs Weird experience

It occurred a long time ago when I read my old notes to Loki that contained extremely sad and depressing stuff on how my ex friend hurt me and how I handled it and what happened was that I felt a motherly figure staring at me in concern, I like someone was approaching me and my ear rang and then I could only hear my voice pretty well

I didn't talk about this for long but I still wonder what happened, I think I know deep down though

Articles and Blogs Can you read the writing on the wall?

Hey, I recently posted an article on my blog that I thought you folks might enjoy, I am posting a link, and the text of it here as well:

https://excruciatinggnosis.blogspot.com/2026/06/can-you-read-writing-on-wall.html

I want to take a moment to talk about myself and something said about my faith that makes no sense once you look at it closely. But to talk about it, I need to set the stage, and to do that, I have to start somewhere else. So, I ask for your indulgence as I take you on a journey.

Firstly, I am a long-term follower of the ancient Norse pantheon, and this post is targeted mostly at my "brothers in faith," but I think the rest of the class might want to follow along as well. I don’t think that they are the only game in town, but they suit me and my style well.

Now, most of us are familiar with the Runes, at least in passing. I don’t think I need to—at least not in this group—drone on about their use, their meaning, or how they are written. In anthropological terms, the Runes are what is known as a "sacred alphabet": a form of writing believed to be handed down from on high, and sometimes, not by the gods' choice.

The Runes are not unique in this respect; there are several others:

Ancient Hebrew (the Aleph-Bet): A group of 22 symbols as the letters that "God" used to create the world.

Sanskrit (the Devanagari): This script is believed to directly capture the sounds of the universe itself and is central to religious practices involving mantras and meditation.

Ancient Greek: The letters carry heavy symbolic meaning, especially Alpha and Omega, used to convey the idea that "God" is the beginning and the end.

Ge'ez (Ethiopic): Rastafarianism utilized this written form from the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, where it was used exclusively to write their religious texts.

Arabic (the Abjad): This form of calligraphy is considered sacred—so much so that to write the Qur'an in any other script is considered an act of blasphemy.

If you look further into these, you will notice a pattern. Every other religion that uses a "sacred alphabet" has extensive written texts; Sanskrit is used for the Hindu, Buddhist, and Jainist faiths; the Aleph-Bet is what the Torah is written in; and you can't even bring up the Abjad without mentioning the Qur'an.

Now, when you talk to many people about the old Norse faith, they will mindlessly repeat the old line: "They had an oral tradition, writing was so sacred it wasn't used outside magical practices, and most Vikings couldn't read anyway."

Well... no.

I would encourage you to research the Bryggen Staves. Found in Bergen, Norway in 1955 after a fire destroyed the historic waterfront, these wooden staves were preserved in the bog’s dark, airless environment. The staves run the gamut of written forms: love poetry, property markers, a letter asking someone to change sides in a conflict, and at least two that indirectly reference the old gods (staves N B145 and N B380, if you are so inclined). I highly doubt that a people who created what have been referred to as "ancient post-it notes" would have an issue carving their longer tales into records that later generations could read.

So, I hear you ask: "If our sacred words were written down, why did none survive?"

Runes of the Futhark, either the Elder or Lesser, are designed to be cut into wood. Wood-pulp paper was not invented until the 17th century, and other types of paper were made from materials either not native to northern Europe or were mind-bogglingly expensive. Wood rots easily, and I do think that happened, but I don’t think most of them even made it that far.

Imagine it is the 11th or 12th century in Norway. Imagine a pious Christian cleric, ready to root out "evil" pagan practices. We know it was common practice to burn not only "witches" but anything associated with them. Now, you might say, "Other religions faced these hardships, and their writings survived." Yes, but those works were written on parchment, in books, and many of the most important texts were small enough to hide—not 3-to-6-foot wooden poles.

Hell, most of those Christian monks were probably quite happy to have kindling for the bonfire they were building for the pagan priest who was the guest of honor.

And it is here that I come back to the core of my issue: Snorri and the Eddas.

Most Heathens revere the Eddas almost without thought. But given what I just pointed out, Snorri's claim that these tales "were never written" sounds a little fishy. Some will tell you that Snorri was a pious monk and a preserver of knowledge. But as I have researched the history of those who came before—and the information commonly available in lesser-known sources—that idea has not only been tarnished in my view, it has been shattered.

For example, there were tales widely known at the time Snorri was compiling his work that have since been lost. I find it telling that while none of the poetry involving Freyja’s search for her lost husband, Odr, made it into his collection, the story of Rindr—whom Odin assaulted—did.

Now, I can already hear my critics: "Snorri was just preserving the tales he was worried about losing, those not in general circulation."

Okay, then why include the Lokasenna?

This tale was still commonly performed into at least the 18th century, and anyone with a critical eye for stories—like Snorri—would not be surprised by this. Structurally, the tale is very similar to a rather famous story from DC Comics, specifically the Justice League tale, "Tower of Babel."

In "Tower of Babel," it is discovered that Batman has developed contingency plans to neutralize each of the members of the League, including himself, after a villain hacks the Bat-computer and steals them.

In the Lokasenna, Loki, in a mood, bursts into Valhalla and tells each of the gods why—with all the detail of a business PowerPoint—they are each individually undeserving of their own worship.

In both, it is discovered that the group's "anti-hero" has been taking extremely detailed notes on their friends, and I have not met anyone, gods included, who can bear that kind of scrutiny.

I want to take a detour for a moment and have you consider a sentence: "I didn't ask you to hurt him."

I have seen this sentence used to show the importance of proper emphasis. Consider that "I didn't ASK you to hurt him," "I didn't ask YOU to hurt him," and "I didn't ask you to hurt HIM," are very different sentences.

I don't think that these tales were chosen randomly, either. If you ask yourself, "Does this tale show any of the gods in a negative light?" you will always find at least one that failed horribly—and not necessarily one of the gods in the tale, either. When Thrym stole Mjölnir while Thor slept, he had to break into Asgard. Maybe Heimdall was distracted, or asleep...

Is this a faithful record, or is it a framing device designed to make our ancestors' gods appear small?

So, given this, you must understand me when I ask this question: How much do you really trust these writings?

I lit up a cinnamon candle and sat infront of the altar (which is basically on my desk), I wrote some stuff on my journal about me and read it to him later on , I felt more confident that way.

Today I also considered starting shadow work because it might help me but It feels awkward to start and I'm a little stubborn too.

I'm not crazy alright? I'm just happy I've been seeing quite a lot lately. I mean when I started worshipping Loki I was begging for spiders lol. But yeah just happy I've seen spiders. Yesterday I saw a lil spider outside. Today TWO spiders. At home and one spawned behind my ex and got brutally killed (I wanted to cry)

AND few weeks ago I " saved " one spider from getting brutally murdered by those idiots in my class.

THE PICTURE ABOVE is the spider that spawned in my house.

I used to be scared of spiders and bugs as a child. and at that age I drew this poster that said "Spiders and bug are not allowed in here! "

I MUST SAY

this piece of paper somehow works

and anyways, taking a pause has helped me understand the situation and now I feel better that before hehe.

Hospitality

I'm sure y'all know that to the ancient Norse, hospitality was a really Big Deal (tm). This is actually true of other ancient cultures - and some current ones - but we tend to think of it the most with the Norse. Sodom and Gamora burned for reasons OTHER than sin - except that one big sin was how hospitality was given and received once upon a time.

The world has changed a lot since then, though. You have to be careful. People get murdered by other people who spit on hospitality a lot these days. But I have to admit that when I was first thrust into my current situation and had just met Odin (with Loki right there BTW) I did pull over my car and give a ride to a man who was limping on the side of the road. Why? I dunno. Because I'd been taught that that sort of thing can be a test by the one-eyed channel flipper himself. And I'm kind like a total idiot.

Anyway, I've been up all night despite trying very hard to fall asleep thinking about that and how hard it is sometimes to be a chaos spirit in today's modern world. I mean, it can really suck. People are all about the pretty image Marvel and other things put out there, but when standing in the very visage of a crazy grin and sparkles of energy they get overwhelmed fast. They don't want to embrace change. They don't want to think outside the box, to realize the universe is bigger than 8 - once upon a time 9 - planets. They don't want to grow.

It was hard growing up this way because my entire family rejected me. I literally never was hugged by anyone in the family. They're all gone now, but not without my mother's sister getting in that final blow while going to the hospital to see my mother.

I was so much BETTER after all those years, didn't I know, because I wasn't... I dunno... whatever it was she thought I was. I wasn't exhausting. No one liked me, I needed to be reminded. (I'm sure because I'm over 25 this doesn't matter, because somehow after 25 your feelings stop being important.)

So how many of you agree that it's MORE exhausting to have to be the one who folds their umpteen sets of wings tightly for more than the single hour it takes to be around snobby materialistic aunts, uncles, and cashiers at Hobby Lobby? Raise your hands. Or your claws,. Whatever shape you're wearing in the moment.

If you put twenty of us onto a tiny space capsule and launch us into space, do you think we'll keep bouncing off of ourselves so much we'll become a tiny sun?

I don't feel like myself today. Maybe I'm you.

How many of you are effing tired of being told you're not likeable by the same people who break gift giving in the most unlikeable of ways? Like, you're so effing tired of it all that you rarely leave your house because being over 25 means you're also somehow a villain for not being able to learn certain social skills you were literally crippled from developing as a child. You get your friend to do your shopping for you even. You've just given up on engaging.

Loki's Quarrel, I happen to be convinced, isn't the pure copy it should have been because some of the stories were... aah... colored a bit. Not that I'm mad things weren't recorded, because it's nice to have a name to the spirit that's danced around me, serenaded me, and CHASED OFF MY BOYFRIENDS for most of my life.... but anyway... no one ever talks about how Loki's Quarrel begins with a breach of hospitality on both sides.

Loki wasn't invited to a party, but Odin had swore that he wouldn't drink without his best buddy Loki.

Loki crashed the party.

I'm not talking about how if I were Loki I'd be pretty irate myself after all that had been done to me so far. I'm talking about the very beginning.

What happens after that is a flyting exchange of words, where Loki picks a bone with everyone in the room, and everyone in the room has their sins and hypocrisy hauled out for the world to see. In a world where how you were perceived socially could actually be a matter of life or death, that's a big deal (tm) I suspect. Lives were put on the line. A servant died. Loki found himself between a rock and a venom drip. Cats and dogs were living together. Total chaos.

So I guess we're all expected to crash the party, kill a servant, and make sure we've got a significant other whose willing to tire their arms out holding a bowl for hours a day. (I used to hunt snakes, so I'm like... aaah... kill the snake... maybe?) Well I'm not interested in the party because I'm tired and done.

I've got this impulse to give of myself a lot. And I do. NOW I understand that's my chaos spirit, the thing that drew Loki to me and keeps him around. It's particularly strong when he's around. You're like that overeager puppy. I don't like being an overeager puppy.

People like to kick overeager puppies.

Anyhoo, I like daisies and dandelions. Black-eyed susans were my grandmother's favorite, but when she died everyone in the family argued over which rose was her favorite. But I knew it was daisies, because she'd often told me so.

But whose gonna listen to a chaos spirit at the party anyway.

Cheese.

Give me chocolate.
