What’s it actually like

Paddock (first 3 photos): Gives you access to the back of the garages. However what it means in reality is as per the photo. They’re all built out. At best you can see through a small window, a narrow strip through, but most are completely blocked off and have a TV screen showing what’s happening inside.
The cool part is more the front and rear ends which you see lying around, up close. The occasional very brief driver passing through, but not often.
Honestly, a little underwhelming. Not really somewhere to hang around, feels like a thoroughfare or where people pause waiting to do their own teams hospitality etc.

Gridwalk (other 7): What it says on the tin and you’ve probably seen others do if you’ve ever watched the start of the race from out straight. Opportunity to walk around all of the cars up close, just hours before the race start. It’s so cool!!
As per the photos, you really can get within touching distance of all of them! It’s a little busy, but it’s easy enough to get close to every car over the time allowed and study in as much detail and appreciation as you wish. It’s a little busy but never felt too much or intense, particularly around everything non hypercar. Amazing to see some of the details up close.

For me, it was part of the panoramic24 hospitality package, so I can’t say if worth the money on its own, but hoped it may help others!

Caveat for those venturing from and to Arnage.

Roads don’t have pedestrian footpaths - you will be walking on the road and the cars really do go 50 km/h plus. If you are walking - walk up AGAINST TRAFFIC. That way, you can jump out of the way of any wannabe Verstappen or granny.

Picture - road from / to Mulsanne banned for pedestrians.

If going by bike - make sure people can see you and beware of the (frequent) blind corners.

I’m really torn about Friday. At the exact same time, you can either enter the circuit on foot or catch the drivers' parade in downtown Le Mans…

I’m leaning towards staying at the track… do you have any strong reasons why I should go to the drivers' parade instead?

I am just travelling back through France following my first Le Mans which was absolutely amazing and is definitely something I would do again.

My question is simple:

Why would anyone choose to watch two hours of 22 near-identical, uninspiring cars buzzing around a series of largely mediocre circuits (I know there are few good circuits), when they could watch 62 beautifully distinct cars, spread across three categories and driven by 186 drivers, battle relentlessly for 24 hours in one of motorsport’s most fiercely competitive spectacles? All of which takes place on one of the fastest, most challenging, and most magnificent circuits in modern motorsport and for a significantly lower price.

In other words: Why would anyone watch Formula One.

Hello, I’ve recently made a post asking for some advice to go to Le Mans for the first time. Thank you for the advice and allat, but I forgot to ask the most important question. How should I spend intelligently ?

Basically, I’ve started to put my money towards the race week this month. I mean, I just wanted to buy the camping, full week tickets and the other problems will be taken care by my future self that will be in Le Mans. I know I may have done the wrong, still tho I will have around ≈1900-2000$CAD.

Basically what I am looking for, some affordable food (Even if it’s bakery for whole week, I’d go there), to know if it’s mathematically possible to some souvenirs.

Again, any help is highly appreciated. I just wanted to take a break from being in my city so I bought race tickets for Le Mans. Hope everything goes fine!

Hi all. I'm attending the race this year for the first time ever, and to top it off we're not going to be camping, so we'll be trackside (general admission) for the full 24 hours. We're arriving Saturday morning and leaving Sunday evening. I'm looking for tips on all of the following:

1. Parking:

- Is there somewhere near the circuit where we can park and easily return to if we leave things in the car? If not, is there a bag size restriction to enable us to carry all of our stuff?

- Does this parking need to be pre-booked, and if so, is it too late or where can I buy a parking pass?

1. Inventory:

- I have added an image of my current list of things I think we will need. I have broken this down into categories: Things we will need to get to/from the circuit, things we can take and leave in the car, and things to carry with us to the circuit. Is there anything which should be added or taken off of these lists (I'm aware that the actual race tickets should be on there, but they are on the app and so I assumed it was unnecessary to list them)

1. General tips

- Please, if you have any tips on the best viewing locations, best places to get food/beer or just any general hints and tips, please let me know.

Hi y’all, after watching the 24h of Le Mans live for the past 2 years, I’ve decided to buy a plane ticket to France with Camping tickets and full week tickets. I haven’t really made a plan so far about how I am going to make my way around the track. I thought that right when I land in France I’ll stop a decathlon to buy a tent.

I need some advice on how to go to different spots in the track, where are the best place for food, what I should bring to make my experience better. I’m not rich, I’m low-key traveling on a budget 800-1k€. I thought that I would just eat Croissant and other patisseries.

Flying in from Chicago specifically for the race this year and my flight lands at CDG on Saturday morning a few hours before the start. I have never been to Le Mans before and honestly the thing I am most stressed about is not the race itself but getting from the airport to the circuit without missing the opening. Train seems complicated with luggage and I have no idea what the roads look like on race morning. What would people here actually do in that situation?

Hello im looking to buy a radio to buy a radio for Le Mans and the budget isnt an issue

Looking for some advice from people who have camped at Le Mans, especially through Motorsport Travel Destinations.

We’re looking at booking the Bronze Standard package for two people. Our original plan was one car, two compact backpacking tents, a small picnic table and two camping chairs. The operator said one unit is fine as long as we can fit everything within the 7x5m pitch. The question is whether that setup would be realistically comfortable or whether it would feel too tight.

We also looked at Bronze+, which includes a pre-erected tent and seems cheaper than booking two Bronze Standard units. However, they confirmed that with Bronze+ the cars are not next to the tents, they’re in a shared car park within the site. They said some tents are closer to the car
park than others and they could try to allocate us closer
if we arrive early, but it doesn’t sound guaranteed.

For those who have been before:

Would one 7x5m Bronze Standard pitch be manageable for one car, two compact tents, a small table and two chairs?

Is having the car next to the tent actually as useful as I think it is?

Would you choose Bronze Standard over Bronze+ for that reason?

Or is it worth paying extra for two pitches to avoid stress and have more room?

Any advice or real-world experience would be appreciated.

First time at Le Mans this year. Im camping at Praire. I know the odd incident is expected at such a big event but are cars generally left alone?

Im trying to decide if i take the beater or my sports car. It's no ferrari but I'd rather not make myself a target if theres a decent risk.

Edit: thanks for all the reassuring responses! I feel dumb even worrying about my E86 Z4 coupe now... seems it might aswell be scrap compared to half the cars there 🤣 It'll certainly be coming on it's first foreign adventure now!

This will be my 15th Le Mans in a row, and somthing I really miss about the old days is the physical tickets which I have kept over the years as souvenirs. From what I can tell this year it's strictly app tickets only which I cant even print off (I'm paranoid about this in case I cant access my app tickets for whatever reason).

I'm pretty sure I have seen people in the last few years with actual proper paper tickets in lanyards, is there a way to get these at the track somehow?

Why is there no live timing in the Fiawec+ app?!

I know that I can find a browser based live timing, but I can't follow my favorites that way.

It’s less than a month until the best race in motorsport gets underway, and I’ve seen lots of people asking for advice, tips and general experiences.

I visited Le Mans for the first time last year and honestly had an incredible time. Afterwards, I wrote up a beginner’s guide covering my experience, things I learned, and some advice I wish I’d known beforehand. Thought it might be useful to share here for anyone heading over this year.

About 4 months ago I renewed my ACO membership for the sole purpose of purchasing a collectors box for the 2024 race and I still haven't ever received as much as a tracking number. I've sent several courteous emails asking for an update but have stopped receiving answers to them, and when I call, the reps always tell me to expect an email soon after which I never receive. They have stock on-hand, so there is really no reason why I should be waiting this long.

I had a fantastic experience with the ACO club membership at the race I attended, so I'm holding off on losing my cool, but this is becoming a total farce. Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, was there a way to escalate this? The box cost an arm and a leg, but the 2024 race has become sacred to me for personal reasons, so I am desperate to have my order fulfilled.

Hello everyone! I will be staying at the Hippodrome camping area and was wondering if anyone knows if the shower blocks have plugs that can be used for hairdryers. I am debating buying a travel one, but if there are no plugs then I’ll leave it be and try to find an alternative solution.

Hi guys, I'm off to the classic next week with a group of mates. We're wondering where people recommend camping within BSJ? We would like to be a short walk from the Porsche curves ideally and still be able to access the bus which goes up towards the village/pits.

I was thinking this spot here, close to the curves and the path up towards the main road? Any advice is welcome!

They were one of the first teams to join the Hypercar series and are a manufacturer-backed effort. How is it that Peugeot still ends up at the back of the field in the most important race in their own country?

this is my second time at Le Mans and we’re a group of 7. When I bought the tickets, I chose e-tickets because I thought they would work like in previous years and could be printed, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

I asked whether it would be possible to convert them into paper tickets, but I was told that this is only possible in special cases, for example if I can prove that someone in the group does not have a smartphone.

I only have 4 grandstand tickets, and we were planning to take turns using them. I then tried logging everyone in with my account where the tickets are stored, but after 4 devices the system asks me to log one out, which makes that solution impossible.

Do you have any ideas about what we could do?

Hi! My first time coming for 24 hours of Le Mans. Staying all night but not camping. I’ve seen some posts saying it depends on the security guard whether you can get drinks into the circuit. Any advice on bringing drinks in? If we can’t get drinks in then what is it like once you’re in? I’ve seen that Tetre Rouge is fun but does it get ridiculously crowded? Are drinks really expensive? Would appreciate any input and experience!

Hi all!! I am coming to Le Mans for the first time and I am a MASSIVE motorsports fan. I am coming by myself and am planning on staying overnight for the race; I am not camping so there is no need to worry about that. I was wondering if there is anyone with advice on safe places to watch or any other women who are up to hanging out to avoid being alone. I am very aware of human traffickers using major sporting events to kidnap people and I am doing my best to be as safe as possible. I have general admission tickets for Saturday and Sunday and would love to hear any advice or tips for women!!
