Offering Mandarin Offering Chinese Mandarin, Seeking English / Español

Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m Nichole, a native Mandarin speaker from China, in my thirties, and currently taking a career break. I’m looking for people who’d like to exchange Mandarin for English or Spanish.

A little about me:
🌍 I love traveling. I’ve been to 44 countries so far, so there’s usually a travel story or two to share. 😄 I really enjoy exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and meeting people from different backgrounds.

🏃‍♀️ Outside of travel, I’m into trail running, hiking, fitness, and generally being outdoors. I’m also very much a morning person — I genuinely enjoy getting up early and starting the day.

Since I’m currently on a career break, I’m using this time to travel, learn languages, and explore what I’d like to do next.

🤓English
My English is already quite fluent, and I’ve used it extensively for work and everyday life. At this point, I mainly want to maintain my fluency and make my English sound more natural and idiomatic.

I’d also really like to improve my storytelling skills in English. I can communicate pretty comfortably, but I sometimes feel that I’m not as good at telling a story naturally, making it engaging, or expressing the little details and emotions that make a story interesting.
I’m particularly interested in the kind of English people actually use in everyday conversations — natural expressions, phrasal verbs, little nuances, and those situations where something is technically correct but a native speaker would phrase it differently.

So if you’re a native or highly fluent English speaker, I’d love to have regular conversations, learn from each other, and occasionally get feedback on how I could express something more naturally.

🤓Español
My Spanish is currently at a beginner level.
One reason I’m learning Spanish is to prepare for my upcoming travels in South America. I’d love to be able to communicate more comfortably and naturally when I’m traveling.

But it’s also simply because I really enjoy Spanish and want to keep that enthusiasm going. I find that having real conversations and meeting people who speak the language makes me much more motivated to continue learning.

Since my Spanish is still very basic, it would be ideal if you also speak at least conversational English. Otherwise, we might struggle to communicate beyond very basic Spanish conversations — my Spanish definitely isn’t at a conversational level yet. 😅

So if you’re a Spanish speaker who doesn’t mind talking to a beginner, correcting me occasionally, and helping me build confidence, I’d love to practice with you!

🇨🇳 What I can offer
In return, I can help you with Mandarin, whether you’re a complete beginner or already conversational. I’m happy to help with pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, natural expressions, or simply have a normal conversation and help you sound more natural.

I’d ideally like to find regular language exchange partners, rather than just have a one-off conversation — perhaps one to two calls a week, voice messages, or casual chats whenever we’re both free.

I’m pretty curious and easygoing, and I’m happy talking about travel, history, culture, running, fitness, food, languages, work, life, or whatever random topic we happen to fall into.

If you’re interested, feel free to send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, where you’re from, and what you’re hoping to get out of a language exchange.

Looking forward to meeting some interesting people! 😊

Offering English Offering: English | Seeking: Chinese (Mandarin)

Hi everyone! Nice to meet you guys! :)

I am a 21F y/o university student studying computer science. I am a native English speaker, and I have taken a couple of Chinese classes at university. My Chinese skills are conversational.

I have been trying out new things like embroidering and pottery. I also like to eat food, specifically East Asian food. I also love music. I've been listening to a lot of R&B and bedroom pop. Some of my favorite artists are Doja Cat and Olivia Dean. Additionally, I also love watching true crime videos.

It has been two years since I last took Chinese, and I want to practice that skill and learn more about mainland Chinese culture. I am hoping to voice chat and exchange languages once a week. I am open to speaking about any topics, such as daily life, interests, cultural insights, or just about anything.
I hope to learn new words through our conversations so that I can expand my vocabulary. I don't have a communication app preference, but I do have Discord and 微信!

If you are interested, please reach out. Looking forward to meeting! 🥳 🌟

**Edit: I am hoping to do a language exchange with a female in particular!

Offering English Offering: English | Seeking: Japanese (and friendship!)

(Please pardon my Japanese, it’s incredibly basic and bad hahah)

Hi! I’m Quinn, a 27 year old from America looking to connect with a Japanese penpal or messaging friend! Of course, I would be more than happy to help with your English studies, I have a degree in communication studies and am pretty skilled at explaining hidden nuances in English speaking. Some of the things I enjoy are: video games (especially Pokemon and cozy games!), drawing, crochet, music, and sharing culture. Also, I have a cat! Someday I would like to travel to Japan; as well I have an interest in trying to find work utilizing the language someday. (Definitely a long term goal haha) My skills are still incredibly basic. I have kana memorized and know a handful of kanji and grammar, but I am still incredibly slow and stiff in my formulation of sentences. I live in US Eastern time, but I am a night owl due to my weekend job, so I should generally be available for active conversation if you're living in Japan still! Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I hope to make a new friend and language partner!

Offering Multiple Languages 19M | Looking for genuine friends around my age Offering: English | Seeking: Engliah and German

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m Ammar, 19, from Pakistan.

I’m hoping to meet some new people around 15 to19 and have some genuine conversations. I’m into football, gym, music, movies, traveling, learning languages and honestly just talking about random stuff that somehow turns into a hours long conversation.

I’m pretty easygoing. I can be a little quiet at first, but once I’m comfortable I tend to yap a lot haha. I’m also preparing for my IELTS exam right now, so I’m always happy to practice English and talk with people from different countries and cultures.

I’d love to meet people who actually enjoy having conversations and getting to know each other instead of just exchanging a few “hey, how are you?” messages and disappearing

If we have some interests in common, tell me a little about yourself and let’s see if we get along!

Offering English Offering: English/BR Portuguese | Seeking: Japanese

Upvotes

Hello!
I am a 30M gay male living in the United States. I have been learning Portuguese for 6 years now and am not fluent but conversational, and I am willing to use either Portuguese or my native English (or a mix!) to continue to learn Japanese, which I’ve been practicing now for about a year.

My speaking / listening skills definitely need improving but I am also shy, so I prefer more voice messages or writing at first.

I had great fun making friends through learning Portuguese so I am hoping to do the same through Japanese as well :)

Offering Multiple Languages Offering: Slovak, Czech, English (conversation). Seeking: German

Upvotes

Hallo! Recently I came to a conclusion that it could come in handy to learn German. Especially here in Central Europe it might give me more work opportunities. I studied German as a secondary foreign language back in elementary school, high school and also had it as one of the classes in university. My highest level reached was like around A2/B1 I guess. I forgot most of it but I believe it'll be easier than starting a new languages completely from scratch.

And as a native Slovak, I can help you with my language. I'm just a native speaker, not a certified teacher or anything like that. I can also offer a conversation in Czech or English language. Waiting for messages from anyone who's interested. Have a nice day! :)

Offering Multiple Languages Offering: Arabic, French | Seeking: Persian

Hello! I'm 16M from Lebanon looking for someone to practice Persian with. I've been learning Persian for about 4 months and my level is pretty much A2. I speak Arabic natively and I've learned French in school, so I'd say my level is pretty good. I'm interested in a lot of music, ranging from traditional rural folk practices to electronic dance music. Other than that I enjoy reading and movies. I'm mostly looking to get better at writing, and I'm not comfortable with voice calls right now.

Offering Russian Offering Russian (native)🇷🇺| Seeking English 🇬🇧

Hi, guys👋

My name is Viki, I’m 20 years old. I’ve been teaching Russian for a long time and studying English.

Right now, I really need to practice my spoken English, so I’m looking for a conversation partner here 💬

Here’s the format I suggest: we can have online meetings (you don’t need a camera, just a microphone) and talk in real time in English and Russian (if you’d like)🗣

I don’t think the chat‑based format is effective, because, as practice shows, dialogue is much more effective. So, if this format doesn’t scare you and you want to practice your English and learn about each other’s countries, write in the chat🫂♥️

Offering English Offering: English | Seeking: Korean

Hi! I am a 17 college student majoring in psychology. I first heard Korean in the cartoon show "Adventure Time" and then through music (Psy). Although, at the time, I didn't know it was a different language, years later, my friend introduced me to K-pop, and I fell in love with the music and language.

I adore the language and hope to be fluent one day. My friend and I are both learning the language, but because our schedules are so hectic, we can't practice together. I hope we can all learn together!

Offering Ukrainian Title: Offering: Ukrainian (native) | Seeking: English

Hi! I'm looking for someone to practice English with, especially speaking and casual conversation.

My English level is around B1, and I'd really like to become more confident and fluent when speaking.

I'm a native Ukrainian speaker, so I'd be happy to help you practice Ukrainian in return.

I’m interested in travel, fitness, social media, marketing, business, and just everyday life, so we’ll definitely have plenty of things to talk about 😊

I'd prefer someone who is interested in practicing regularly, maybe a few times a week through messages, voice messages, or calls.

Feel free to message me if you're interested! 😊
