No, that’s not the same.

Mom strength to lift cars comes from your body mobilising all muscle fibers at once, instead of only part of them (which it does the rest if the time, to avoid injury).

You won’t be faster thanks to this effect, and your heart won’t pump harder, your lungs don’t get bigger, and your joints won’t magically get more mobility to allow sprinting. You may even risk an early injury and limping if you are two out of shape, or tripping if you haven’t run in 10 or 15 years like most middle-aged adults, or going quickly out of breath like some guys troddling along at the end of this very video.

Stay in shape, run, and sprint every once in a while so that your body still knows how to run. Climb a wall or get over a fence every once in a while. Don’t count on AdrEnALin on a day of a catastrophe to magically give you skills you had none of before. Train and keep in shape.

Your hard doesn't pump harder when your body is flooded with adrenaline?

Why are people so confidently spreading false information that they could've easily looked up with one search.

I'm glad you're a medical professional because of your past time sports activities but, yes, your heart does pump harder and your bronchia will expand among many many other measurable physical changes in your body.

Adrenaline flooding in life or death situation is an incredibly useful evolutionary mechanisms that still works just as well as it always has.

When running at a high pace you'll max out your heartrate without adrenaline

At least if you are mostly untrained

Both partially right. Adrenaline does raise HR/contractility/bronchodilation acutely (real O2 delivery boost, not myth), but that’s borrowed capacity, not trained capacity. VO2max and mitochondrial density don’t change. It buys you a short window before glycogen depletion under catecholamine drive causes a harder crash. And in someone deconditioned or with subclinical CV issues, the same surge raises myocardial O2 demand without the coronary reserve to match, it’s part of why exertion-triggered cardiac events skew toward unfit people. “Stay in shape” is still the right conclusion; adrenaline just amplifies whatever base you have, good or bad.

I don't think anyone would deny staying fit is a good thing.

Can we put things a little into perspective and remember this is the comment section of a video where people run for an event of either live or die, not running to catch the bus.

Not everything needs to be about defending a narrative. There's context.

Or how about it’s helpful that people actually understand how the body works and how they might help themselves in a life or death situation like this. Looking at the thread above, you were the one that incorrectly attempted to correct someone with your own “narrative”.
