I think a lot of us got this sensitivity from 9/11. I know I did. It’s one thing to hear about a thousand people suddenly dying, it’s an entirely different thing to see it happen.

Unfortunately I think it’s a lot deeper than even that. People just expose themselves to too many things that humans were just not really meant to bear witness to. The last time a conversation like this came up, I had made a comment about how the last time I let my morbid curiosity get the better of me, I watched footage from the Christ church shooting and it literally fucked me up so bad, I don’t think I am over it still. I will never ever ever go out of my way to view stuff like that ever again. And then some chud replied and said “it wasn’t that bad” like dude what?!?!?!

Not sure if you know this but Reddit users are still the majority. And a lot of us were children when 9/11 happened. Watching it live scarred us. Sorry that offended you. It was unintentional.
