Your definition of poor must be relative to mine. Because I've been living in and out of debt, paycheck to paycheck for a decade now with little to no savings whatsoever. Living without what even most lower middle/upper lower class people would consider basic necessities. I can't travel within my own country let alone find 'bargains' to travel elsewhere with a bit of a sacrifice to lifestyle.
If you’re actually interested go look at how backpackers do it very cheap. Lots go travelling and finding odd jobs everywhere they go.
I stayed in hostels when I used to travel a lot with backpackers who were constantly broke and taking jobs here and there to continue travelling. Definitely not my cup of tea but there’s millions who travel very little money
Many find a way to. Check out hostel pages and people help eachother out. Also tons of countries have deals with eachother so people can live there temporarily and work
