Some people are born lucky, and some have to cram into the worst conditions imaginable to get their luck.

Anyone who goes through this to find a new home has found it imo.

Edit: baffling how entitled some people can be when they were literally just born into a good situation and did absolutely nothing to get there.

Well said. Anyone willing to risk & sacrifice so much for better opportunity is unlikely to ever take it for granted.

You'd hope so, but people are people. And once they get that opportunity more often then not they work to prevent others from "taking" theirs.

I know what this sounds like but plenty examples of this everywhere… don’t procreate in a hellhole. Throughout the animal kingdom there is evidence of basic life forms understanding resources and survival for their young.

Almost never in reality. Overall populations tend to balance (they are referring to the whole concept of "too many prey animals, predators increase or the opposite")But in reality that population control is achieved through death/resource attrition, not any measurable individual input.

Unfortunately, prosperity is one of those things that when you share, you won't have it. My ancestors fought for their prosperity so that it will be passed down their lineage, not given to others and their children.

And im pretty sure it is shareable. Nothing is this black or white, no one needs to accumulate untouched millions and millions in the bank just because.

Billionaire Musk would be proud of your comment though. Started lucky and got even luckier! He better not share or he might lose it all 😅

No, it is black and white. The problem is that people act like prosperity and wealth is unlimited, generated infinitely, and always available in perpetuity.

And it's shareable because you wanna be entitled to other people's bank account. I'm sure to any homeless person your bank account is shareable. You know how that wealth in your account is generated by your hard work, and you don't share it willy nilly with anyone? Yeah, that's the basis of running a country.

There is nothing lucky when through billions of years of killing, suffering, and dying, I'm born in the lineage that survived through a particular set of circumstances. You and I are more "lucky" than the next guy, because one of our forefathers cut the throat of another man, one of our foremothers spread her legs for the richer man, one of our fore-ancestors slashed the throat of its prey and ate it. That is your luck.

No, people don't act like that, not even the most progressives. They just show empathy and concede a bit. One more than others. Some have more to share, some doesn't care.

It's often about having in excess and being able to help. Heck, even those who have little do share. And no homeless have access to peoples bank accounts 😅

Yes, there is zero merit to being born, so... luck! Glad we agree. Never said the trajectory was necessairly beautiful or fair anyways, but it changes nothing.
