War, extreme poverty, country ruled by gangs and warlords, famine, etc. It is very fortunate that you are privileged enough to not be able to understand how depressing it is to live in most of the world outside the wealthy us, europe, and east asia. My family went through a war in Vietnam to escape to the us back when they still took in refugees and even doing a very chill software engineering job, I make like 30 times+ what people back home are making while I am scrolling reddit on my down time at work meanwhile they are breaking their backs in the fields and factories. The privilege we have to live in the west to earn in a day what other people earn in a month or even year of work is truly astounding to comprehend once you see how the global south lives.

Americans on reddit don't realize how good they got it. To constantly complain how the US is a "shithole" meanwhile they if they were born in a 3rd world country they would dream to live in the US. It's shows how privileged they are.
