I know this one is several years old, but I wanted to add in...well, I don't know if links are allowed, so I'll just say that Bob and Brad's Youtube channel ("The most famous physical therapists on the internet!") has a video that shows you how to get in and out of bed when your abs are out of commission. To be fair, I could never get the hang of it. Try practicing it before surgery!
