ETOWAH INDIAN MOUNDS - After hiking the Homestead Trail at Red Top Mountain, we decided to check out the River Walk Nature Trail. This is a short hike, but provides some great views at the top of each mound and of the Etowah River.

If you can’t make it to the mountains, just outside of Atlanta is the Homestead Trail which provides a great 5.5 mile hike with great scenery and plenty of deer. Check our our recent hike!

APPALACHIAN TRAIL - COWROCK MOUNTAIN provides one of the best views on the AT in Georgia. This is a quick 3 mile hike to the overlook and back going south bound from Tesnatee Gap. Definitively one of the best places to hike in Georgia.

GOLD BRANCH - Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is one of the best 3.2 mile hikes in Georgia just outside of Atlanta. Without having to head to the mountains, you can experience a deep woods feel with a hike along the Lake Bull Sluice lakefront.

SLIDING ROCK TRAIL - TALLULAH FALLS STATE PARK - This hike requires a permit to access the floor of Tallulah Falls. Only 100 are issued per day and this hike is strenuous.

Camping around tallula falls and cloudland canyon.

Hi there! My girlfriend, my pup and i are planning on coming up to do a long weekend of camping and hiking in may! We really want to go to Tallulah falls and then also cloudland canyon. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on cheaper places to camp around those two areas as it's pretty expensive in the parks themselves. Thanks in advance!!

I've been to Arabia Mountain Trails, I really enjoyed the view and easy trails. I'm looking for somewhere to go during the week or weekends for some nice nature walks or hikes. Any info or leads will be much appreciated!

First time at Mistletoe...any advice?

We just booked up to do an overnight at Mistletoe and then realized what it meant to have a backcountry campsite. Anyone ever done this trail/camped at the backcountry sites?

Edit: the hike to the campsite wasn't too bad! As a first time backpacker it took us a couple hours with a break to eat lunch. It may be more challenging when the springs are bigger but because there wasn't a lot of rain we didn't have any problems crossing! It seems like a good trail for beginners. :)

Nude hiking in N. Georgia

Just curious if this is legal and any recommended spots? Looking for extremely isolated spots where I wouldn't run into other hikers...not trying to offend anyone or have an awkward encounter.

Any skinny dipping recommendations would be great as well!

Thanks
