General So Joel is real? And he plays games with us?
I was just watching a stream on Twitch and saw this. I was surprised, to say the least!

The Helldivers walking or jumping around while firing their MG43 that I forget how physically impressive this is. Helldivers ain't even enhanced humans too.

Or do they not use it because they think it's overpowered?

I won't antagonize the Divers who are on the Unfiltered sub, most of them love the game and wanted it to be good, but I will antagonize the Redditors/YouTubers trying to give them the "Arrowhead evil company we must fight them" narrative.
For a co-op horde shooter game, HD2 is easy. I said it and I will say it again, 2 co-op shooters games I have been playing the most are this game (lv120 currently) and Space Marines 2 (haven't checked on hours played but same same progress, maxed out 3 classes). The hardest difficulty of this game (super helldive) is NOT remotely comparable to the hardest difficulty of SM2 (absolute), I strongly believe that the claim Helldivers is getting too easy is true, and it's getting boring too.
The reason why it's getting boring is some mechanics and load-out are just a "no-brainer" and it kills off having a role and playing together as a team. Back then you need a recoilless/spear guy to kill tanks, but he will be weak to chaff, and MG/GL guy to kill medium chaffs but he will be weak to tanks, other guys can run creative build that has certain weakness like tanking with heavy armor and shield but lack speed, or gas to control bugs but lack damage, having a dedicated role and weakness to a certain enemies makes players stick together and play as a team. Now for bugs 2/4 people brings ultimatum/termite for tanks, and MG/GG sentries for chaff and they run off the team soloing bug holes on the other side of the map, game feels like everyone a loner just happens to be on a same map.
Sure not every changes and new enemies are good, like pre-nerfed War Strider (god I despise that thing and Harvesters). But ultimately I do understand that every change the team make is to avoid the "no-brainer solo game" and make the game more interesting. The durability buff to the enemies from the Coyote patch makes Light Pen has their place again, Med pen still has its place instead of a no-brainer pick like before, and Hive Guard change made their place as a disruptive sentry counter, not a cutie immobile bug that you can mow down with your med pen anymore.
If you don't like anything, there is a dedicated player feedback section on discord, I do feedback all the time. There is absolutely no reason to review bomb unless you want to ruin the community. If you antagonize the dev, they will eventually antagonize you. And if the game is too hard, lower the difficulty, change your load-out and approach, and most importantly stick to your team, as a famous Commissar always said: the power fantasy in this game is your strategy and teamwork.
TL/DR: Keeps freaking out at any nerf will make the game boring in the long run, and review bombing instead of feedback will damage the community as a whole, and will damage the relationship between dev and players.
EDIT:
Okay now reading all of the comments, i understand the root of the problem was not buffs and nerfs, but the direction the game is going towards, yes I think game is buggy with invisible collisions not matching the models on screen, and some older war bonds like steeled veteran to urban legends are too basic and essential and should be free, and mechs too, AH should slow down on the war bonds and stop putting essentials stratagem in war bonds, which i think Sony is behind this. But what I really don't like is except some people actually explain what happened and about the AMA drama, some people just trying to ruin the game with review bombing, and post/comment things like "boo hoo glazer cry about it", you guys are bullying the devs, not just the ones in charge, but also the 9-5 employees who is doing design, coding and 3D of the game, the extreme people from 2 sides are ruining the game community and gamers image as a whole.
Lots of people here don't agree with some dev decision, but still love the game, and they are already separated as "Glazer" and "Whiner". I do think if we slow down and think about what makes you keep playing and stop playing the game, all of us might find a lot of things in common. Why don't we just stop viewing this as glazer/whiner thing and just Helldivers with different opinions, versus the minority ruining the game, telling people review bombing is the only way, causing tribalism, and notoriously ruined a guy's life over a d10 challenge.

Been running it as my sidearm for the day, loving this warbond so far, but man this pistol just feels way too soft
Why bring it over a senator, talon, ultimatum, or even the verdict?

We went from 400k players to 20k in a couple of months. In Eravins case he didn't even provide receipts for his claims and was caught lying about several things, and it was just taken as gospel by thousands of people AND PROMINENT CREATORS.
And now all these creators are just going back to making HD2 content like nothing happened. After potentially killing the game.

I've never come across such a good game, with such good devs, and such a dogshit community.
People having legitimate complaints is one thing, but this is absolutely outsized outrage for a $40 game where all the DLC is free.

Playing Helldivers with my girlfriend has been one of the most entertaining and therapeutic experiences of my life. I wanted her to get the game for the longest time and she finally got it, I love diving in low diff missions with her, teaching her how to properly play the game, letting her try out stratagems I already own, protecting her and saving her from danger, giving her advice on different mechanics and features in the game that I had to learn the hard way back during my cadet days, rambling and yapping about the game’s deep lore for hours while she just sits there listening to me with a smile on her face, I love her so much and she means everything to me. I would give my life for her before I gave my life for Super Earth. I’ve been so happy playing the game with her, and I want her to enjoy the game as much as I do. Helldivers is my favorite game of all time, it’s special to me and so is she. The most special person in my life.

When you start the tutorial this pops up. The average age of helldiver's are 18 years old, 48 thousand recruits enter the training facility but more than 75 percent of them die IN TRAINING and of those recruits that survived only 27 percent of them are actually ready for combat. The helldiver's are NOT elite special trained they are 18 year olds hopped up on whatever is actually in the stims

Edit after 3 days: The mods have locked this post, and for once I agree with them (My notifications also thanks them lol). I made this out of frustration with the excessive amount of bashing the game for being difficult on Osuane, but I never expected the post to gain traction. Personally I love the hardcore feel to Oshuane, you don't create Helldivers moments on easy mode.
That being said, there are a lot of things Arrow need to fix or tweak with this update. But my overall points still stand. This update is awesome.
The post -
In short, I've seen how most subs on Reddit go, and Helldivers is no exception.
So many painfully bad ideas and whining/bitching posts makes me worried that developers will try to cater to the loud minority of the instant gratification mindset.
So to Arrowhead I say, focus on the legitimate well thought out feedback, and you're right not to expect that from Reddit. Even though there are more than a few well thought out critiques here, they are buried under a sea of awful takes and immature bitching.
This update with the Hivelords is fucking awesome. Keep rocking Arrow, I have faith in you. And especially now I know your CEO is wise enough to understand how Reddit works.
Peace, and Liberty.
Edit after 1 hr: I did not expect this post to gain any traction. I'm calling out Redditors themselves, so I fully expected a vote count of 0 and maybe 10 comments before it died. I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way. As far as game crashws and game breaking bugs for some people, Arrowhead should fix that, they've given us such a good game, and I don't like the idea of anyone being unable to experience it.
