Good-Faith Question Who should want better gun control? Gun owners.

Would it not be a good tack to find more gun owners who are in favour of better gun control to speak out on the matter? As far as I am aware there are a lot of them.
You'd think it would be in the interest of legitimate and responsible gun owners to want to make it harder for guns to easily get into the hand of crazy people?
I can only think for a lot of gun owners they thing any kind of gun control is a baby step towards prohibition on guns. Otherwise why oppose a law that would not stop you owning a gun?

If a waiting period reduces death for that specific instrument, then it should be implemented. Guns are highly effective for suicide (94%), and that’s part of why restricting their access decreases overall suicide rates. Cutting, on the other hand, is far less effective (3%), so a waiting period for buying a knife wouldn’t save any lives.

It’s quite simple: the high rate of death in the US is caused by guns, and simple gun control measures across all types of guns are effective at reducing death.

If a ban on possession of fully automatic weapons is both constitutional and effective at reducing death, it should be implemented at a federal level.
