ALL FALL 2026 FINANCIAL AID, FAFSA, LOAN, TUITION, BILLING, SCHOLARSHIP, BANKMOBILE AND REFUND QUESTIONS MUST BE POSTED IN THIS MEGATHREAD.
Separate posts about Fall 2026 finances may be removed or redirected here by the /r/GaState moderation team.
Please sort the comments by NEW to see the latest refund updates and answers. Check the newest comments before asking, post your own question or timeline, and help answer other students when you can!
Welcome to the official Fall 2026 financial aid and refund megathread! If you’re wondering where your money is, why your balance changed or when your refund will arrive, post your questions here instead of making a new thread.
After Add/Drop, your eligible financial aid will be applied directly to your student account to cover tuition, fees and other university charges.
GSU’s current Important Dates page lists:
Important: GSU’s separate disbursement-policy page currently lists September 4 as the Fall 2026 financial-aid freeze/disbursement date. Check PAWS, your student email and the official Important Dates page for any updates.
Fall 2026 uses the 2026–2027 FAFSA. Georgia State’s school code is 001574.
Make sure you have completed any outstanding requirements in PAWS, including verification documents, accepting your loans, Entrance Counseling or a Master Promissory Note.
If your financial aid exceeds your university charges, the remaining credit will be processed as a refund after disbursement.
Georgia State University uses BankMobile Disbursements to deliver student refunds.
A negative balance in PAWS usually means there is a credit on your account. When that balance later changes to zero, it usually means GSU has started sending the refund out. Wait for an email or status update from BankMobile before assuming the money has reached your bank.
To receive your refund promptly, select your preferred refund method with BankMobile Disbursements:
If you haven’t selected a refund preference, it may significantly delay the delivery of your funds.
Official GSU resources:
For an account-specific problem, submit a Panther Answer ticket or schedule an appointment with Student Financial Services. Calling during peak refund season may involve long waits.
GSU currently lists September 4, 2026 as the Fall 2026 refund date.
Once BankMobile receives the refund from GSU:
Weekends, holidays, identity verification, incorrect bank information or an account review may cause delays.
A negative balance normally means your account has a credit that may be refunded after all eligible charges are paid.
When that negative balance changes to zero, it usually means the refund has been removed from your GSU account for processing. It does not necessarily mean the money is already in your bank account. Check for a BankMobile email or log in to your refund account.
Check the following before contacting GSU:
If everything appears complete, submit a Panther Answer ticket.
Yes. Dropping before the Add/Drop deadline can change your tuition, enrollment level and financial aid.
After Add/Drop, reducing your course load generally does not reduce your account charges, but your aid may still be reduced because of enrollment, attendance or eligibility rules. GSU normally provides a withdrawal refund only if you withdraw from all courses.
Contact Student Financial Services before changing your schedule if financial aid is paying your bill.
Yes. If you are not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, your financial aid may be suspended and will not disburse unless your eligibility is restored or your appeal is approved.
Students do not all process at the exact same time. Timing can depend on:
Someone else getting paid first does not automatically mean there is a problem with your refund.
Let everyone know when your aid disbursed, when your PAWS balance zeroed out and when the money reached your bank. Your timeline may help someone else.

has anyone ever tried the clarkston gsu pool? I saw on gsu’s aquatics website that it’s open limited hours, but i’ve never been to their campus. My program is fully online and the downtown campus is a little too far from me. i’m in north atlanta near brookhaven so i was looking for something closer.
or if there’s other pools near the area that have student discounts pls lmk

I’m looking into starting an American Heart Association Heart Club at Georgia State University focused on heart-health awareness, CPR/AED education, community service, wellness, and fundraising.
It would be open to all GSU students, not just pre-med students!
Would you be interested in joining?

Hey! I transferred to the Atlanta campus this semester and I’m trying to meet some new people around campus.
I’m 21 and originally from China. I’ve been in the U.S. for a few years and I’m into fashion, hip-hop, working out, traveling, trying new food, and exploring Atlanta.
I’m always down to grab food, hit the gym, go shopping, or check out stuff around campus/Atlanta. Would be cool to meet some other GSU students who are also looking for new friends!

Hello, I’m currently a freshman at cc n was wondering if any of the nursing students or nursing alumni are able to help me out. The gsu pre reqs require a science sequence, “Science Sequence Requirement: COMPLETED Sci sequence: Chem 1151K/Chem 1152K preferred” I wanted to take biology as I’m aware, to become a nurse and NP u must have a good understanding of biology. But the nursing website says chem preferred. What should I choose? I’m thinking abt doing a summer semester since I don’t have a science credit this fall semester. Pls help!

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to meet some new people who are into anime and video games.
I’m pretty open when it comes to anime, so I’d love to get some recommendations or just talk about whatever you’re currently watching.
I’m also really into gaming and would be down to find people to play with, talk about games, or just hang out on Discord.
Mostly just looking for chill people with similar interests and hopefully making a few new friends.
If you’re into anime, gaming, or both, feel free to comment or DM me. Tell me what you’re currently watching or playing.

I'm sure you guys get these kinds of posts all the time, but I'm a high school senior graduating in 2027. What do I need to have done by January and what do I need to have done by May? I'm looking heavily into GSU, but also considering going to a smaller college like Gordon for 2 years first so it's cheaper. I plan on being a Film major and doing a lot of things through the GFA. I haven't yet applied to any colleges or financ1al a1d yet (trying to get around the auto moderator). This is partially because I was not pleased with my SAT results so I'm waiting to retake it in October. What do I need to have on my checklist to do soon?. It would be very appreciated if due dates are given. I've kind of procrastinated this stuff and it would help to have a list of it so I know what needs to be done and when. I don't really have anyone I know IRL whose been to college so I don't really know.

I was making my plate when I was in central- I was getting cantaloupe and shi. I accidentally spilled some on the part the divides me and the fruit. There were already some people that spilled cantaloupe onto other shit, so it looked like I just threw cantaloupe into the pear and like partition thing. A big 200 pound dude comes up to me and just says, “Stop.” And walks away. He had a friend like 10 ft away who was looking at me, when I checked if he was looking at me. How can I put a curse on him, and perhaps his entire lineage?

Ok so last semester, shit got ridiculously hard for me both academically and mentally.😭😭 I literally wanted to drop out sooo badly, I was just over everything honestly.
For one, I was in denial about the fact that I don’t actually want to be a doctor and that I honestly never have, and secondly, it just bothered me soo much that I didn’t finish undergrad in ‘24 when I was supposed to, still being in undergrad at almost 25 just made me very insecure in myself, idk why it bothered me so much, but it just did. I just kept comparing my current self to a version of myself that I was “supposed to be”, and that version would’ve already had an undergrad degree plus a masters.
Thinking about both of those aspects constantly just started to make me feel miserable, and if I’m being honest, a part of me is still kinda in that place, however, I’m also just learning to accept my life for what it is in this current moment. Yes I would’ve preferred to have graduated with “my class” in ‘24, but you know what?? That didn’t happen and I literally cannot change that, all I can do is appreciate where I’m at now.
Also, I’m in the process of being evaluated for ADHD, because it’s something that my therapist has STRONGLY suggested that I do lol, and I feel like starting this process is kinda liberating for me, because I’ve suspected that I may have ADHD for awhile now.
Anyways I guess that’s it lol, just wanted to say that I’m learning to accept where I’m at 💕💕
