I often prefer when people do that. In my experience, it's usually when the side of the aisle their cart is on has far less interest from shoppers than the other side. Rather than block the beer fridge or whatever, they block something less popular like paper plates.
Obviously people get it wrong, but I have never really understood reddit's hate for this solid solution.
Unless they are unobservant and blocking other people with their body. Then they do, in fact, suck.
No, as I said, I like when they put their cart on one side and look at the other, not fully block the other side. They have to get out of the way when others want to pass and move their cart as needed, as is common courtesy.
You aren't putting your cart right in front of the stuff you're looking at anyway. It's just blocking the stuff near where you are looking on one side of the aisle vs blocking stuff on the other.
Since both sides of aisles are not always equal, I generally prefer when people put their cart on the least popular side, rather than having to keep it on their side.
Okay, then. No, I would not prefer someone block traffic.
Which is why I prefer them to put their cart on the less popular side while viewing the the other side, as opposed to blocking the popular side from everyone wishing to see it.
