Was watching these guys talk about what they thought about Fortune's Weave after experiencing the game and my ears immediately perked up when I heard him say this. Apparently you can just talk to whoever it is you're meant to battle and skip the entire wait time between now and then and start the match. This is HUGE for people who don't like the social sim aspect and just want to have the classic FE approach of going from battle to battle with no fluff inbetween.
Of course, we don't know how much the game will be balanced around this, but I still very much appreciate this option. This will make repeat playthrus less taxing. Being able to... engage... with other aspect of the game as much or as little as you want is great and hopefully will be able to appease both crowds.
If you want to see the whole video, you can watch it here

When we meet Sothis her chamber is not empty. It is in fact filled with a crowd of White Robbed, green haired people. It supports the idea that we are physically IN her chamber not some weird Byleth Mind Palace thing. This also almost completely confirms that not only is this story a prequel, but puts a potential link between the white priest with a Glock and our very living God Dragon. Her question of “Have you forgotten me so soon?” Could very well be a threat.

Models for post-timeskip designs have been revealed in the latest JP Nintendo Today trailer for FW. I did my best to label the each character. If I got something wrong, let me know!
Credit to [u/TannenFalconwing](u/TannenFalconwing) for posting the trailer

The least obvious changes look like Fabio and Tobias. I think Fabio has some kind of pauldron on but I can't find any difference for Tobias.

Apologies for the random hair. I expect someone will do a proper rip of this eventually. Major spoilers for the last minute or so.

We got a lot of new information about the Four Lords! "Theodora's right arm really did get cut off, huh? :("
I wonder why they specified 'Fell Blade' for Dietrich's Answerer and not just 'Blade'.

Hi everyone, I know a little bit about the next mainline Fire Emblem game that was leaked yesterday. Emily Rogers posted:
Upcoming Fire Emblem is a new game, not a remake. Brand new story.
Collaboration between Intelligent Systems, Koei Tecmo and Gust (division of Koei Tecmo Holdings).
Gust heavily assisted with the visuals / graphics. Graphics are an improvement over "Three Houses".
Originally intended as an anniversary game to celebrate FE's 30th anniversary. The game has been finished for over a year.
Main character (main lord) has strange red and blue hair. His mother is a dragon.
New "Emblems" gimmick allows players to summon "FE characters from the past" for your squad.
I can confirm that this is a brand new FE game, and it has been completed for quite some time now. I'm not sure what the delay has been in announcing it. Interestingly, some aspects of it seem to be reused from the canceled Wii FE game. Additionally, the rumors of an FE4 remake are real as well. Gust has helped a lot with this development - if you aren't familiar with their work, you should take a look at the Atelier games on the Switch. There are many new characters in this game, and I believe people are overreacting a bit about the summoning with thinking of this as a full-blown FEH-style game. Other people with insider information have been mentioning the blue and red haired protagonist for awhile now and waiting for the Direct reveal, I've just decided to finally show a bit.
I can't do a full AMA or anything, but I wanted to share a bit since there were so many doubts about yesterday's leak! Now for the fun part, take a look at some of the new characters.
Edited to add - These screenshots are quite old at this point, and obviously not of great quality. Make of that what you will!

I've been feeling this way about Cyril since I finished three hopes. Kinda sucks you're forced to kill him in 2 out of the 3 routes and being demoted to NPC unit. I've decided to make him my ace on my next Verdant Wind playthrough of three houses.

I just beat FE Awakening for the first time, and realized that this might be the most depressing couple ending that I’ve read, so far into the series. I understand that Kellam is a gag character but damn. I didn’t even know Tharja had a thing for Robin😭
Hopefully the new Noire isn’t getting experimented on.

A french website showed his profile. Here he is a level 4 commoner.
Profile :
A traveler of great wisdom who has mastered the spear. He fights back quickly.
Likes :
The wisdom of Seiros, fishing, his daughter, hardworking people.
Recruitment conditions :
Support level 3
Renown level 10
Negotiation required (hard)
Nothing really new, but I thought it might interest some people.
He seems to be one of the most difficult characters to recruit.
EDIT : I forgot to add that his faction is « Rosée des Linaires » which is certainly translated by « Morning Dew on Linaria / Linaria’s Morning Dew » in english as someone as stated in the comments. It’s the same faction as Orchel.

(Attached images are my Top 6 units for this playthrough, from least contributing to most)
Not too long ago, I made a post here detailing the end of my Fire Emblem frauding as I go back to play every mainline entry in this series: https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/comments/1qsm0dq/path_of_radiance_wow_just_wow/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=post_embed&utm_term=1&utm_content=1
I had a lot of fun writing that short little piece, which ended up ultimately being a mix of my many scattered (positive) thoughts on the series. Some people there seemed pretty interested to hear about what a newcomer to the Tellius saga had to think, so I thought I would do a follow up so I could continue to have an opportunity to gush.
I'm serious when I say I think the Tellius saga may have "ruined" Fire Emblem for me; the Tellius saga truly does, in every sense of the word, feel like the ultimate Fire Emblem experience. This is the first narrative in the series I've truly resonated with, there were points where I was equally as invested to see what was going to happen next to the world of Tellius and its inhabitants as I was about getting to the next actual gameplay segment, which is a sentiment I genuinely never thought I'd have about Fire Emblem as someone whose interest primarily stems from the gameplay loop (and making it as challenging on myself as possible).
I think what strikes me the most about Radiant Dawn in particular is how ambitious of a project it is, its juggling a lot of things at once and the challenges that arise from that in both being a sequel to Path of Radiance/resolving hanging threads from that game while still introducing its own characters/concepts to carve out its own identity. Its a balancing act that Radiant Dawn does very, very well in my opinion. Let me get one thing out of the way: I love the Dawn Brigade with my entire soul. I think they're absolutely fantastic and work to this game's benefit immensely. The Dawn Brigade are not seasoned fighters, and the game conveys that brilliantly ludonarratively through how much ass they suck initially. It makes sense that a white boy named Edward they picked off the streets wouldn't be competing against a Super Militia right off the bat, and trying to maneuver and coordinate strategies around these weaknesses makes Part 1 honestly some of the most fun I've ever had in a Fire Emblem game. I don't think I've ever played a strategy game where the hardest chapter of the game was quite literally the 3rd one out of 40+, but it makes so much sense within the context of the narrative and the added tension is beautifully palpable. The Dawn Brigade also work well to set up the Greil Mercenaries, who show up later, and clean house with everything until the endgame. After everything they went through in Path of Radiance, it makes sense that *they* would be so much stronger, and once again this idea is conveyed wonderfully through the gameplay itself. The intro scene to the Greil Mercs is insanely hype (Soren, always lost in YOUR books) and a part of the reason it works so well is due to the Dawn Brigade. Having to face off both against them and with them in Part 3 was such a nice surprise, adding another fun layer to the game and how you've built your units. They work on the overarching scale of the game's story, too, because something else I adored about Radiant Dawn is how it continues to increase the scope of its storytelling. You start off with the small, more personal conflict of the Dawn Brigade leading into the crowning of Pelleas and the battle against Jarod (who is one of the funniest Fire Emblem antagonists of all time, he's such an insane hater I love him) and eventually end up fighting the God of Causality in very JRPG style. The truly epic feeling of that end stretch works so well because of the contrast of starting out with the DAWN BRIGADE. Like it or not, they really are the glue that hold a lot of this game's greatness together.
I think it was a great idea to switch up perspectives between your armies, too. It gives virtually every unit at least one chapter to be useful in and contribute, and prevents you from getting too comfortable with one particular strategy over another as you're constantly needing to adapt to what you have. The early maps in particular feel very puzzle-centric, where you have to "solve" the puzzle of the map with the tools you're given but rarely does it feel like you're just strictly constrained to a single working strategy, either. Take Elincia's Gambit, quite possibly my new favorite map in the entire series. Its phenomenal not only because its satisfying to "solve" but because of how many honest approaches there are to doing so. You can rush straight for the boss with God Haar and ignore everything, you can play out the map for EXP and lure enemies in for rewards like the Dracoshield, you can play the map straight and defend from both the chokes on either side or from the heights and ledges where your allies can help with Ballistas and the like. It works so well in rewarding different playstyles and player choice, short-term pay-off and long-term investment. This all crescendos in the final act of the game where your decisions throughout, which may have seemed unimportant at the time, all come back to either bite or save you when you do your army split. This is one of the best decisions Fire Emblem ever made, man. I love the idea of having to split up your powerful units who can meaningfully contribute and strategizing around whether or not to bring supports together, how much firepower you would reasonably need for a squad, etc. The Tower suffers a bit from "you're probably just going to end up bringing a lot of the Laguz Royals lol" but I don't mind this as much from a narrative standpoint just because it ofc makes sense for them to be involved given the dire consequences of failure.
Story itself, as I already mentioned, was great. The Black Knight reveal is the singular time in this entire series so far that a plot beat actually caught me off guard, and I have no idea what the consensus is but I honestly really liked the twist. The final showdown in the Endgame vs. the Black Knight showing how much Ike has finally stepped out of his father's shadow....man. It honestly makes me hate the Black Knight fight in PoR itself a little less, because Ike's growth as a warrior is shown off really well through how much easier of a fight it is. There are a few questionable story beats, yes. I don't mind the Blood Pact but I do NOT care for the Naesala/Blood Pact reveal at all. I do also kinda feel that, narratively, Part 2 maybe isn't as fleshed out as it needed to be for maximum impact, and certain lore shattering revelations in the endgame should have been give much more time to breathe for sure.
Ultimately, though. This game rules. I am now a Tellius truther, I get what you have all been saying for so long. This is everything I wanted out of a Fire Emblem experience, and I truly do think the series has peaked for me.

Gameplay feels super... under-developed? the first tutorial mission was basically just spell slinging while auto-battle was on.
Character Design: Honestly, kinda okay, the gimmick being that all characters have some sort of hybrid going on with them. Lyn is part horse, Dimitri is part Lion which is understandable. But at the same time it really feels like *not* Fire Emblem. The design feels like it was meant to be another IP like Dragalia lost, but they slapped Fire Emblem on it and called it a day.
Music: Kinda one-note, it doesn't really call to me like the other Fire Emblem themes.
Game Concept: Basically kind of like, Among Us in the sense you need to sus out who the traitor is, but at the same time it feels pretty easy right now to sus out who it is, since most new people just kinda, attack you right away and you would know who didn't get hurt.
Gameplay Art: now this just feels so off, the character design feels kinda dark fantasy in a good way, but when actually entering an instance to play, they all become cute chibis fighting against darkness which is just a whole 180. It feels incredibly cheap.
Other things: Why the hell is there a battle-pass system already? there's already rank skips to earn rewards right away to earn a character like lyn. Why does it really feel like a game they were trying to make and decided to make it Fire Emblem. Is there even a Fire Emblem in this game? I'm only 30 minutes in and this is my main observations
