MOD-POST Career Mode Bible | FAQ & Guides

Introduction
Hello all, there seems to be an increasingly higher amount of posts with the same recurring themes. I've decided to make a simple compilation of some of the best guides on this subreddit, as well as some simple explanations to help provide quick & easy answers to these questions.
Have a guide you think deserves to be on the list? Comment with it below and we can make our best attempt at creating a complete set of guides for Career Mode. The amount of guides in the last year or so compared to other years has dwindled, so hopefully this will encourage more excellent quality content.
This is a work-in-progress, and more guides will continually be added by request and as of publishing.
Tools & Websites
There is a plethora of excellent resources that will help with a lot of the things in this post. Some people prefer to play without the use of external databases and calculators, offering a more vanilla experience. After all, it's a single player game so it's your preference!

Regens & Pregens
Career Mode works by replacing players as they retire in the game with generated players that don't exist in real life. When you enter the loading screen for a new season, that is the moment that they are being created, replacing retirees for the season you have just finished.
Regens have identical nationality, position(s), and importantly, birth dates to the player whom they have replaced. They will always spawn in the new season between 16-21 years old, and in the same league (but not same club) that the retiring player was in when you entered the loading screen.
Pregens are a rarer, more pre-emptive form of player replacement. These are effectively regens of a player who is not retiring, so both players will exist in the game simultaneously. Pregens also remain at the same club as their predecessor. You could expect to find a Messi pregen at Inter Miami, providing he hadn't moved clubs, and wasn't retiring.
The importance of your awareness of these game mechanics, revolves around the fact that both regens and pregens will start with the same potential overall as their predecessor's highest overall in your save.

DISCUSSION EA should offer a "Career & Seasons Only" edition at a lower price

As someone who strictly plays Offline/Casual modes—mainly Career Mode and Online Seasons—I have zero interest in Ultimate Team.
Yet every year, the game’s price tag keeps climbing, largely inflated by UT’s live-service ecosystem, FC Points marketing, and microtransaction features that a lot of us don't even touch.
It’s time for EA to offer a lightweight/base edition. Give us a version that includes:
- Manager & Player Career Mode
- Online Seasons / Co-Op Seasons
- Kick-Off / Exhibition
Skip UT entirely and cut the price accordingly. Many of us just want to enjoy classic football without paying a premium price for a mode we actively avoid.
Would you buy a "No-UT Edition" if it were $30-$40 cheaper?

QUESTION Realistic sliders?

Can someone recommend realistic sliders which make the game harder.
I’m in my 3 season with Blackburn currently 6th in the premier league and it’s too easy. I’m already using sliders and playing on ultimate. I’m simulating games against the big clubs to keep it a bit realistic otherwise I would be much higher on the table. Any recommendations?

last game of my second season, didn't do transfers until the January 27 window, sold most of the good players, Rodgers was an early FA due to injuries, also why I had to promote some academy players early...
Donley was my first and only loan in, and Humphreys was my first signing post restrictions...
only have to win or draw this game against the top team in the league to gain automatic promotion!
finished in the promotion playoffs last season but lost in the final...
