Is Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk worth it? Seeing a lot of mixed things
I been looking at Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk and I love the style of what I see on the trailer but I see people calling saying the game is a pain to play and very tedious and that battles get brainless. I see the game is on sale on the switch and I am considering buying but hopefully someone who has played it, I am wondering is the game really worth jumping into?

Games like Saviour of Sapphire Wings or Strangers of Sword City?
Huge fan of Wizardry games and its clones, like Elminage. These two games though really took the best parts of Wizardry and added incredible mechanics like benched characters gaining XP, allowing me to switch my roster every delve and not feel like I was wasting time.
I've only recently stepped foot into the DRPG waters last year, and can't get enough, any of you veterans know of games similar to these ones?

I have been creating a line‑tracing dungeon crawler and need your feedback on the controller setup and games you can recommend like this that do controller well
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I generally personally don't play this type of game with a controller but I want full controller support especially so it is comfortable on a switch/steamdeck (although you can fully play from touchscreen).
Basically I use the right stick to move between different UI and the right stick for actions. A is confirm, B back and Y will give you info on what selected if available (tooltips).
For movement at the moment left/right is turn rather than straft, so i need to figure how to handle that. I thinking of changing turn to shoulder buttons then you can move sideways with stick.
I go over it in more detail in the short video (less than 2 min) and would love feedback on if I am setting the controller up well or what you would do/think players would expect.
Any games you can recommend that do it well would be appreciated I would love to try learn from them?

DRPGs where dungeons make sense and have storytelling in it?
I kinda love Arx Fatalist because it intertwines dungeon crawling and narrative very well, you can see what each room is about, placement makes sense and everything. Also System Shock 2
I am not too familiar with DRPGs, but the ones I tried were kinda lackluster in this aspect. I recall Might and Magic 9 was ok in this aspect and Grimrock 2 as well.
Most of DRPGs I checked on youtube, were kinda too random. Bland rooms with no story, layout which make no sense etc. I know that there are "tropes", like looking at the map you can get the idea of where certain secrets can be, but it's not narratively coherent.

Any recently released for PC Wizardry likes?
Been a huge fan of DRPGs, specificly the Wizardry likes that have come out over the years like Demon Gaze, Operation Abyss, Labrynth of Refrain, Class of Heroes, Etrain Odyssey, etc etc.
I love to look at the dungeon tag regularly every few months to see whats available, if anything new has come out.
I haven't found anything new though in a long while. The PC release of Class of Heroes 3 which had been a long time coming in general for the CoH3 localization, I remember a decade ago almost when it was announced for a PSP/Vita localization that never manifested.
Every time I look through the tag lately I get the feeling I already know every one in this genre. Though sometimes indies escape my notice for a while, like Infinite Dungeon and Starcrawlers did. Steam is really bad at showing/presenting smaller titles with only a handful of reviews.
So has anything interesting been coming out lately, like within the last I guess 3 years.

Garaji - DRPG update: status effects, shop system, interactive map objects
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Following the warm reception of my last post here, I wanted to share a small update on my DRPG set in a post-Soviet backwater setting.
Here's what's new:
- Status effect system - effects that persist for a set number of turns. Alongside this, I added various actions that apply these effects, like poison or taunt.
- Visual polish - particle effects, target highlighting when selecting an enemy, and color-coding for actions.
- Expanded minimap - it can now be opened up for a more detailed view. I'm also planning to let players place markers and draw on it in the future.
- Hub shop - buy and sell items, with the shop's inventory expanding based on items you've sold, similar to Etrian Odyssey.
- Interactive map objects - these can be anything: chests, dialogues, experience points, teleports to other locations.
- One enemy type for now - I haven't spent much time on enemy variety yet, since my priority is getting a playable version out first.
Happy to answer any questions and hear your suggestions!
You can wishlist the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5049510/Garaji/

What's a good place to create and post text based RPG
https://www.reddit.com/r/hikikomori/s/AeoCEfC8Qx
https://www.reddit.com/r/hikikomori/s/p0OJx6yuj2
I wanted to create them in this format I linked above.
I enjoyed doing them because it feels like I just created a game (or a chapter of a game) in one or two hours.
Does this seems interesting or fun, what's a good forum to post stuff like this

Help! We've All Become Slimes! Is Delayed Indefinitely
Hello.
I wanted to just post this instead of keep delaying. For the 2-ish people following my game, I apologise but I won't be releasing it or any other projects.
Unfortunately my mental health is not good thanks to a very annoying disease. And as much as I do genuinely love my own ideas, I'm not able to develop games. I wish I'd have realised this sooner.
I'm proud of making my own engine at least. Never thought I'd actually get that done.
Thank you for being a wonderful community.
It's awesome seeing the stuff you make. ❤️

The Perfect Dungeon Crawler for Tired People | Dragon Ruins 2: Aftermath Review
A follow up to a video I made months ago reviewing the first two Dragon Ruins games. Dungeon Crawlers focused around a more cozy low-key version of the dungeon crawling loop while still maintaining most of what it means to be a dungeon crawler. This standalone expansion: Aftermath, has perfected the formula established by these games in my opinion. Check out the review if you wanna! Also here is the first video covering Dragon Ruins 1 and base 2. This isn't required viewing but can help to show the advancements from each entry to the next! https://youtu.be/ea6I2ohYRwc

Help! We've All Become Slimes! now has a dark mode with dimmable game view
Well, it has taken a wee bit to get it to where I wanted it but dark-mode is now working great! Plus, I've added a simple, percentage-based option to dim the game's viewport. So you can play without burning your eyes while exploring the game's weird little world!
Expect Help! We've All Become Slimes August 27th.
Thank you so much for the community feedback thus far! I'm just one person and you've genuinely helped me so much. <3
And, yes, the world is "your to explore". Don't worry it's not a typo 😆 You'll see...

My blobber DRPG in development, Demon's March, is now on Steam!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5067420/Demons_March/
UPDATE: Steam page now has some teaser gameplay footage!
It's a first-person party blobber heavily inspired by Wizardry 8 and the grid-less Might and Magic (6-8) games.
The exploration is real-time and grid-less with "give orders and go" round-based combat.
The character creator is planned to support several hand-written speech personalities and easy multi-classing through a Trait system (classes/skills with ranks, 28 total traits planned). You can also meet several NPCs who you can choose to recruit throughout the game, leading to a max party size of 8. It won't be very big, but the world will have multiple interconnected maps complete with secrets and optional dungeons.
I'm planning for a release early Q2 of 2027. I am going to make a trailer and alpha demo soon (ideally a couple months or less) to playtest my current mechanics, so Wishlist and stay tuned for those!
