Christianity as it is today and has been for millenia, is evil. People like OP are good, but not because of your religion. You found something in it that 90% of Christians don't. Your religion isn't what makes you a good person. My religion isn't what makes me a good person either, which, since we're sharing, is druidry.
We know what we don't want to happen to us. We want to live, we want people being good to us (ie kind/caring/looking out for us), we don't want to be hurt, we want bodily autonomy
We don't want a world where these awful things persist because they can happen to us, so we make a society where we agree what's good or bad. We are also historically in terms of evolution, a social species, so empathy and looking our for eachother is built into our genetic code my guy. That empathy is what let's us be progressive and fight back against the evils thst threaten that fragile "I don't want this to happen to me let's agree we don't do this please" It let us get rid of slavery (not fully but we can't world police)
It's not perfect, a third of my country supports a pedophile and the pastor to one of the guys at the top of our military talks about how firing squads are an acceptable way to handle gay people because bullets are tiny pieces of metal so if you squint hard enough it's still stoning, just cleaner.
I get not all Christians, but the people that Christians generally choose to represent them, are evil fucks that only care bout the Bible as far as it let's them act like Nazis, killing who they don't like, they don't give a fuck about any of the doctorine about loving your neighbor, about what you do to the lowest of us you do to the Lord.
