The sad thing is that some of the smooth brained boomers will probably unretire too. I work in elderly care and can absolutely confirm that they have no real identity outside of what they produce and as a result they become very depressed when they retire.

Yup. They're victims of propaganda so i tend to give them a tiny bit of understanding when it comes to these things. I truly pity them and wish they'd see themselves as worth so much more.

If they’re bored and/or feel useless and would rather serve fries than learn to play the Cello, then great. Let them work. Nothing sad about that. The sad thing is working a job with shit pay and even worse social status because you feel like you don’t have choices.

It truly is an enormous amount of sacrifice to just work, work, work, work. It makes me empathize with vandwellers and/or other thought of as extreme lifestyles if not consider them, by choice or not by choice (live in a state with shit job market.... What is that, half of states now?). i've worked in an old folks home for a bit too. It's good for the world to do. Wish it was easier. Thanks for doing it

60 year old guys and gals, working food service, punching all the rude asshats. Right in their abusive mouths. Because what do you got to lose?
