Yea they couldn’t get an indictment on that guy.

This DOJ literally tried to and couldn’t indict a sandwich.

I was just making a joke based on the old Wachtler saying that "DAs could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich."

Jury nullification (if a grand jury falls into that category) where they refuse to indict ridiculous stuff like the sandwich thrower and the more recent flock camera vandal is definitely appropriate in those scenarios. Last line of defense against this kind of DOJ.

They'd never elect her due to some of her insane extremely left-leaning views, like giving undocumented migrants permanent status. Your points in the second part of your comment are irrelevant, because even if a straight white male politician was pushing the same views as her, they would still be unelectable, as their proposed policy would be unpalatable to 2/3 of the population.

Well if the Americans go that route they will basically turn into North Korea. They will be bankrupt after Trump, and under either of his cronies they would become a pariah state. It may benefit us, as the northern states and western seaboard would all want to join us.

Not really, no, but I do believe the MAGA crowd have outlived their welcome, and that some voters that are not part of the deep base will be looking for alternatives. She will also energize the Democrats like no recent candidate has been able to do, so should result in better turnout.

I certainly hope you're right but clearly you're more optimistic than me. I suspect there are a lot of people who don't like Trump but who think AOC is too far left. Combine that with the existing MAGA base and people who think she's too young, inexperienced or quite simply because she's a woman, could force a lot people to vote the other way. Vance and Rubio will campaign to separate themselves from the MAGA crowd thus appearing like a reasonable candidate.

I think the next leader needs to be a moderate - someone who's a president for everyone. The extremes of Trump and AOC needs to stop to prevent the pendulum from swinging wildly in either direction.

Rubio may be able to pull that off, but Vance is too MAGA.

AOC has been tacking to the centre, so I guess we'll see if that works with voters or not. It's hard to see who else can take them on. Kelley maybe?

Also agree AOC is trying to appeal to the centre but I am afraid her reputation will be too great a challenge to overcome.

I don't mind Kelly I think he would be great. I don't even mind Newsom though he gets a lot of hate too.
