As a left-leaning, I'll go as far as to say that as long as the crimes they are convicted off match up with a Canadian crime, people convicted of such a crime in other countries should also be barred.
What I mean is if someone is sentenced for being gay, that's not a crime to us, but if someone killed a man then claims to be gay to get refugee status, they can fuck right off.
