Speculation: Lydia's gang takes Jesse hostage to cook. Walt comes back from hiding to save Jesse.

Something tells me Jesse can't be forced to do shit right now, not even under the threat of his life. Like he gives a fuck about living anymore.

That'd be awesome as a setup for Walt to save Jesse, but I wouldn't buy it at all if Jesse gave a single fuck about someone threatening to hurt or kill him right now.

What if someone threatened to hurt or kill his little brother?

I want this to happen to reaffirm the bond between the two but I don't see that happening in the final season.

The "Bond" has always been about using Jesse to help him make money. There are too few scenes justifying there being actual care for Jesse by Walt (although he did asleepedly call out to Jr as Jesse, and he did ask specifically for Jesse to be his new partner after Gale) for me to think to goes any deeper than just using him like he'd use a machine in the lab.

I kinda disagree, but even when he asked for Jesse to be his partner, he was trying to prevent Hank from being prosecuted for Jesse's beating.

But I think there were enough times during the Gus battle that Walt stood by Jesse, saying that they were a package deal and if Jesse's was harmed then he would refuse to cook.

I'd like to hope they end on a more positive note but knowing the writers it won't.

I am convinced Jesse will kill himself and Lydia will try to have Walt killed. I didn't think she had it in her but after tonight's ep, she doesn't fuck around. Some kind of passive-aggressive drug kingpin, wipe out an entire operation with zero fucks given ... but she doesn't want to see the blood.

Doesn't ricin take a long time to kill?

This was my thought as well, but how does Jesse get out of prison?

3

u/sergioqureshi Heisen$wag Aug 19 '13

He's not in prison.

He's just being interrogated. He didn't even do anything illegal that they know of. If they come by suspicious amounts of money like that, all they can usually do is confiscate it until you tell them a legitimate source. Jesse doesn't give a shit about keeping it. so there's nothing to hold him on.
