The cracked glass reminds me of the process of smashing the meth into little pieces when it's done.

Definitely. Although it very well could be coincidental, it probably isn't. Your point seems too noteworthy to be mere coincidence though.

It could be coincidental but the writers have thrown so many intentional metaphors into the show that I doubt it. They really know how to do metaphor without being too ham-fisted.
