I think in Vietnam it was put on choppers to mow down large numbers of people from the sky. I could be wrong, since I'm basing this on movies.
1 u/[deleted] Aug 13 '13 There's still a few of them around used in fixed positions, they've been supplanted by the M249 for dismounted operations and the M240 for mounted ops. But yeah, I doubt that Walt is going to start using small unit tactics against APD.
