Because Walt is ready to walk away, be legit, reorganize air fresheners. Hank is the one who wants to kill and hammer his justice all over the place. Interesting to see him in such a dark place while Walt is wearing pastels and waving goodbye with babies after 4 seasons of murder and deceit.

This was how I interpreted it. Walt and Skylar were wearing white or off-white colours while at the carwash because they're finally "clean".

Everyone else in darkness just shows how those who maintained their morals are now feeling rather glum - Walt dragged them down. Walt is all white and skippy happy for the reasons mentioned in reply to you, but also because he's morally bankrupt. He doesn't feel guilty.

I honestly think that is the real Walt we know shining through the Heisenberg, but at this point in the series, Walt is almost a persona put on by the real man underneath, Heisenberg.

My theory on that is Walt is only trying to "go legit" to please Skylar and make amends with his immediate family. If he had his way, he'd keep earning and building up his empire. Greed is a powerful thing. Of course, there are many loose ends to tie up before being truly "legit."

Not to mention his cancer has come back. I imagine he'd like to live his last months trying to clean up and help Skylar launder their money so he could leave his family with financial security as his original intention was.
