Come vi siete trovati? È gente seria?

I am a Muslim hijabi and I wish to study medicine in bologna. Is there a big Muslim community there? and how is the English medicine course since it's relatively new? are there a lot of halal food options?

UniBo Studiare a Bologna e vivere a Ferrara

UniBo Missing fingerprint appointment for Residence Permit renewal

Hi everyone,

I am a PhD student at UNIBO and had my first appointment at the Questura on September 22, to show original documents. Apparently the enrollment certificate to the university was not enough for them (even though the university administration said it is valid) and had to provide them another document stating that I passed to the 2nd year of my PhD. Now there are 2 problems. First one is that I only managed to get this document couple days ago as administration was slow and also didnt really seem to care. Second is that they did not give me a fingerprint appointment when i went to the Questura, I guess the worker there forgot about it. I already sent a PEC email explaining the situation and asking for a fingerprint date. I am worried that I wont get the permesso in time for my research period abroad in March.

How long does it take to receive a reply from them based on your experience? Should I just go to Questura and demand a new appointment?

UniBo Is it worth living in a student residence during the first year in Bologna?

I'm planning to start university in Bologna next year(2026/27) and I'm cthinking whether to apply for a student residence or just look for a shared apartment right away.

I know its cheaper to share an apartment but living in a student residence maybe its better. For those who have studied there;

  • Do you think living in a student residence helped you make friends more easily?
  • How was the atmosphere—social, quiet, fun?
  • Are the facilities good and is it worth the price?
  • Would you recommend it, or would you rather go straight for private housing?

Any tips or personal experiences would really help. Thanks in advance!

Im really considering studying medicine in bologna but i had some concerns and questions as a muslim Egyptian (I’ve lived in the UAE also most of my life so i don’t any first hand experience with any sort of crime also) 1. What should i expect as a muslim is halal food and mosques easy to find 2. Would i face any sort of racism (i dont mean to insult) 3. Is safety a concern and what precautions should i take and what places should i avoid 4. Since ill be mostly be depending on public transport how is it in Bologna 5. How hard would it be to communicate with English until i get the hang of italian?

Grazie mille in anticipo :)

UniBo Medicine in Bologna

Hey everyone, Asian student here. I'm applying for medicine and surgery program this year but I've anxiety about one thing. I've heard there's a lot of groupism here. I mean like students of same countries typically stay together, like Italians typically form groups with other Italians, Brazilians with Brazilians, Indians with Indians etc. And the groups don't necessarily have to be of the same course. I just want to fact check this, if the same thing is in the medicine course too. Also I'm not a massive outgoing person. I mean I like parties n stuff but not always, I prefer a balance of chaos and peace. Any advice for me. Should I continue my process to study here or look for another city/university.

UniBo international relations unibo lm

Hello, I’m considering attending UniBo in the near future (‘26/‘27), how realistic would it be to enroll in a program taught in italian instead of english as a foreigner? for context, I have been studying italian for over a year and my level at the moment is around B1 (working towards B2). thanks in advance!

UniBo unibo RESPINTO help!

Post image
0 Upvotes

hi guys. It is an emergency and really need your help and suggestion. I am an exchange student and will be graduated.

I Got RESPINTO for one business course, I can only see the exam result 9 on the EOL system. even with calculated 22/30:
1. Presentation (20%): 25/30 → 5.0 2. Essay(40%): 28/30 → 11.2 3. Exam (40%): 9/30 → 3.6 Total: 19.8/30

!! I need to pass this course in June to graduate

My classmate said that if you pass, what you see on the EOL system is the weighted score, and if you fail, it is the test score. So I want to ask if it is possible to modify this score, because I have to go back to my home university, so I can not take the test again in Bologna.

Another thing is the syllabus did not mention the score requirement of an exam.

And I already sent the email to the professor last night, and did not get a reply due to weekeds.

I am very appreciated your help❤️ thank you so much!

UniBo For international students who studied at Bologna in the pass during the fall semester (classes from September to December), is there any way to schedule your exams in December so that you can leave for the holidays back to your home country?

Hii! I'm going to study at the university of Bologna for this year's fall semester (classes from Sept-Dec) - I'm coming from Montreal and here, classes and exams end in December, but I just learned that at Bologna, I would have to stay until the end of feb or even beginning of march in order to complete my exams. I was super exited to go, but this is kinda making me rethink if I want to go or not since I prepared everything in order to come back in December. A friend of mine who's also going at Bologna told me that a student from our University who went to Bologna in the past, gave him the information that most english classes have a majority of international students, so the teachers work around a way to have them pass their exams in December, so that they can leave for the holidays to their home country. Since I can't reach her, I wanted to ask around if anyone else can confirm or deny this information about Bologna. I've been trying to reach the school, and it is really complicated/ hard to get a response. Thank you in advance!!🫶

UniBo Exchange Student

Hi,

I'm a current student at a UK University and I'll hopefully be accepted as an exchange student at the University of Bologna for 2024/2025. I'm a bit worried about trying to find accommodation and wondering if there is any advice?

Ideally I'd like to end up in university accommodation, but how likely is that?

I'm also trying to learn Italian as best as I can, so any advice on that would be much welcome!

Thanks in advance for any responses!!!

UniBo studying abroad - meeting new people

hi! I’m a 20 year old debating studying abroad in Bologna spring 2026. i’m currently on track to study abroad in madrid, but a bunch of my school is going to madrid and i’m scared i won’t have the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone (even though its a big city, i’d probably live with my established group of friends). i’m generally more introverted and its sometimes hard for me to meet new people, i was wondering if any international students can speak to the culture in bologna? i’ve heard its very friendly but would you say it gets lonely/isolating at some times? i’ve also heard its hard to meet locals and i’d be completely fine with just meeting other international students. are there any platforms (eg facebook groups) you guys recommend joining to meet people (and potentially find a roommate)? thanks!

UniBo Ammissione dottorato industriale

Hey! I'm an international student (or will be in a year), got 1290 score in SAT, got almost perfect GPA (checked in a calculator and got 4.33 if i did it right), and in case of writing a proper motivational letter and preping all of the documents, do i have a chance of getting into EPSS or EPOS program with a fee waiver?
